第四部分 写作
第一节(满分15分)
Dear Editor,
I am writing to share my opinion on how to best use the newly available class time. I firmly believe that prioritizing independent inquiry would be more beneficial for our academic growth.
While group work is valuable for teamwork, this new autonomous time provides a crucial opportunity to cultivate the critical thinking and self-management skills essential for our future. Through independent study, we can explore personal interests in depth and learn to overcome challenges on our own, which builds lasting intellectual independence.
To maximize benefits, I suggest we focus mainly on independent inquiry, and organize group discussions as needed, such as when we encounter complex problems or have significant findings to share.
Yours,
Li Hua
第二节 (满分25分)
After a moment of panic, Sheldon’s scientific mind took over. Noticing the low fence beside the steps, he quickly calculated the distance and the required throwing angle. He rolled the newspaper into a tight tube. With a precise underhand throw, he sent the paper sliding smoothly along the fence. It traveled in a perfect bend around the sleeping dog and came to rest right at the front door. A small smile appeared on his face as he continued his route, the crisis expertly solved through physics.
Weeks later, “The Money Project” finally paid off. Sheldon placed his carefully saved money on the counter, receiving the long-wanted scientific tool. His mother’s eyes met his, shining with pride. As he held the tool, happiness filled him—not just for having it, but for earning it. This experience brought him a greater prize: strong belief in his own mind and the knowledge that some fortunes are earned not with money, but with effort and intellect. This was the real treasure, one that would only grow with time.

(Text 1)
W: John, I really enjoy watching tennis games. I got into the sport because of a movie. M: So do you often go to the tennis court
W: Yeah. How about playing a few sets tomorrow
M: You're the boss.
(Text 2)
M: Here're the potatoes. Do we need anything else
W: A dozen eggs and a few cans of vegetable soup.
M: If you go and get the eggs, I'll meet you at the cash desk with the soup.
(Text 3)
M: I missed the bus again today because I turned the alarm clock off in my sleep.
W: Try putting it far enough away from your bed, and you'll have to get up on time.
M: Good idea! I'll give it a shot.
(Text 4)
W: Great haircut, James. Do you go to a new barbershop or something
M: No, it was in the same place, just another guy.
(Text 5)
W:I enjoyed it! I was excited about seeing the action heroes.
M: Yeah, I think anyone would like it, whatever their age—lots of action, an exciting plot, a happy ending.
W: It's quite a change for the director who has mainly worked on TV programs.
(Text 6)
W: Hi, I want to thank you for coming in to work the evening shift. I know you were busy working this morning, too.
M: I need the extra hours, and I know the other staff members are feeling sick.
W: Well, I'm glad you're here. But... I noticed that you're wearing training shoes.
M: Oh, it started to rain heavily while I was walking home this afternoon. My work shoes got wet then.
W: Well, I think we have an extra pair in the back that should fit you.
(Text 7)
M: Good afternoon, Pinewood Furnishings. What can I help you with today
W: Hello. I ordered a ceiling light a few days ago. Your website said it would be delivered between January 7th and 10th. I'd like to confirm the delivery date. The tracking number is 4221.
M: Let's see...it looks like you can expect it on January 10th.
W: Oh, I'm going to be out of town then. Can I change the delivery date
M: Yes, but there's an extra charge of 20 dollars.
W: Hmm, in that case, I'll ask Steve to sign for it instead. He lives in 1202, which is right across from me.
M: OK, I'll make a note in our system.
(Text 8)
W: Come in and sit down. M: Thank you.
W: Now, have you got any experience of this type of work
M: Yes, I have. I spent six weeks working at a swimming pool last summer.
W: You are in good physical health. What kinds of things do you do
M: I love all kinds of sport. In fact, I play volleyball on Mondays, run on Tuesdays, and spend the rest of the week swimming.
W: That's interesting. So,why do you want this job
M: Well, as I say, I've done this kind of job before and I feel that saving people is very meaningful. I take safety at the swimming pool very seriously.
W: Right. When can you start work
M: Today is Tuesday. Well, the term finishes next Thursday, so any time after that.
W: Well, thanks very much for coming in. We'll be in touch in one or two days.
(Text 9)
M: What made you decide to take singing classes, Sally
W: Well, I always felt uncomfortable singing, even with my family. For example, going on holiday, my husband and children would sing along to the radio, but I never joined in. My mom had a great voice. I loved listening to her singing while she was cooking. I wanted to be able to do the same without feeling silly.
M: Was it easy to fnd a class
W: Yes. But I was so worried before the first practice that I almost turned the car round and went home. People were already there waiting to start. I found a space at the back of the group and just sang with everyone else.
M: So, has it helped you become more confident
W: Absolutely, yes. Now I join in with the kids when there's a good song on the radio. It's great to know I've achieved one of my goals.
M: So, would you recommend we all do something similar
W: Definitely. There are supposed to be physical benefits from singing- something to do with increasing oxygen levels, which is good for your health. I'm not sure about that, but I do know I always go home in a good mood.
(Text 10)
M: Good afternoon, everyone. Today, I'll share the inspiring story of Mikaila Ulmer and her journey to save bees. DMikaila Ulmer was born in 2oo4 in the United States. When she was four, bees gave her a fright. She was scared every time she saw bees, but her mom helped her to understand bees are actually amazing creatures.
Later, Mikaila found out that bees might disappear in the future, so she decided to raise money to give to people who help save bees. She made lemonade with natural honey to sell. The recipe was handed down from her grandmother. Her customers were friends and neighbors. Her parents were surprised when one day a shop asked if they could buy her lemonade to sell at their stores. After this success, she was determined to set up a business and her family decided to help.
Apart from running the company, Mikaila also helps other young people who have great ideas and gives them classes about how to start a business. Like any teenager, she likes spending time with her friends, but she makes sure that school comes first. She only works in the lemonade business at weekends. She also started the Healthy Hive Foundation, an organization that works to reduce the use of products that are dangerous for bees.
