三. 听短文,选择最佳答案(对应 11-15 题)
Xiao Ya loves nature. Last month, she went to a rainforest in Yunnan with her parents. It was her first time visiting a rainforest, and she was very excited.
When she walked into the rainforest, she saw many tall trees—some were over 30 meters high! The guide told her that the rainforest is home to more than 10,000 kinds of plants. She also saw small monkeys jumping from tree to tree. The guide said the monkeys eat fruit from the trees.
It rained a little during the trip, but Xiao Ya didn’t mind. She wore a raincoat and kept walking. She took many photos of the trees and monkeys. At noon, they ate lunch near a small river. Xiao Ya saw colorful fish in the river.
Before leaving, the guide told Xiao Ya that we need to protect the rainforest—many animals and plants can only live there. Xiao Ya agreed. She said, “I will tell my classmates to protect nature too.”
This trip made Xiao Ya love nature more. She hopes to visit another rainforest someday.

Proposal for Protecting the Park’s Nature
Dear schoolmates,
Our school’s nearby park has green grass and lovely flowers, but some people throw trash and break branches. Let’s protect it together! First, take your trash home or put it in bins—don’t make the park dirty. Second, never pick flowers or break trees—plants give us fresh air. Third, join our school’s tree-planting activity next week to add more green.
Protecting the park makes our life happier. Let’s work together to keep the park beautiful!

笔试部分(共 95 分)
一、阅读理解(共 50 分)
(一)选择题阅读(每小题 2 分,共 40 分)
A
Last summer, I went to the Gobi Desert with my uncle. He is a scientist who studies desert plants. I was nervous before the trip—I thought deserts were only hot and boring. But the trip changed my mind.
We drove to the desert early in the morning. When we arrived, I was surprised: the desert was not all yellow sand. There were small green plants everywhere. My uncle said, “These are cactuses—they can keep water in their bodies, so they don’t need much rain.” I touched a cactus gently—it was hard and had small thorns.
During the day, it was hot, so we stayed in the car until the afternoon. When the sun went down, we got out to walk. The desert looked beautiful at sunset—the sand turned orange. We saw a small lake near our campsite. My uncle said, “Some people live near these lakes—they get water from them.”
At night, we set up a tent. I looked up at the sky and saw more stars than I had ever seen. My uncle told me stories about desert animals, like camels and desert foxes. He said, “Camels can go without water for many days—they are like ships of the desert.”
On the last day, we found a desert fox. It was small and brown. It looked at us and then ran away quickly. I took a photo of it—it was my favorite photo from the trip.
This trip taught me that deserts are not boring. They have unique plants and animals, and they are beautiful in their own way. I also learned that we need to protect deserts—they are important parts of nature.

Landforms are different shapes of the Earth’s surface. The chart below tells you about four common landforms, their climates, and the animals that live there.
Landform Climate Animals That Live There
Desert Dry, little rain; hot in summer, cold in winter Camels, desert foxes, cactuses (plants)
Rainforest Warm, wet; rains a lot every month Monkeys, birds, colorful fish
Grassland Cool in winter, warm in summer; some rain Elephants, zebras, giraffes
Mountain Cold on the top; thin air; sometimes snowy Goats, eagles, pine trees
Deserts are dry because they get little rain. Some deserts, like the Gobi Desert in China, are cold in winter. Camels are famous desert animals—they can store water in their humps, so they can go many days without drinking. Cactuses are special desert plants—their thorns protect them from animals, and they store water in their stems.
Rainforests are warm and wet all year. They have more plants and animals than any other landform. In the Amazon Rainforest (the biggest rainforest in the world), there are over 40,000 kinds of plants. Monkeys live in the tall trees, and colorful fish swim in the small rivers. Rainforests are important because they make fresh air for us.
Grasslands have lots of grass but few trees. The African Savanna is a famous grassland—it has elephants, zebras, and giraffes. Elephants eat grass and small plants, while giraffes eat leaves from tall trees. Grasslands get some rain, but not enough for many trees to grow.
Mountains are high, and the air on the top is thin. It is often snowy on high mountains, like Mount Everest. Goats can climb steep mountain paths easily, and eagles fly high in the sky. Pine trees grow on mountains—they can live in cold weather.
Each landform is unique. We need to protect all of them because they are home to different plants and animals.
根据短文及图表内容,选择最佳答案。

C
Rainforests are important parts of nature, but many of them are being cut down. This is a big problem—we need to protect rainforests for ourselves and future generations.
First, rainforests give us fresh air. Trees in rainforests take in bad air (carbon dioxide) and make fresh air (oxygen). Without enough rainforests, we will have less fresh air to breathe. For example, the Amazon Rainforest makes 20% of the world’s oxygen. If it is cut down, the air will become dirtier.
Second, rainforests are home to millions of plants and animals. Many of these plants and animals can only live in rainforests. For example, the red panda lives only in the rainforests of China and Nepal. If their rainforest homes are cut down, red pandas will disappear. We need to protect rainforests to save these unique creatures.
Third, rainforests help control the weather. Trees in rainforests hold water in their roots and leaves. When it rains, they stop the water from running away too fast. This prevents floods in nearby villages. Without rainforests, there will be more floods and droughts.
Some people cut down rainforests to make farms or build roads. But this is short-sighted. We can find other ways to make farms—we don’t need to destroy rainforests. Governments can make laws to stop people from cutting down too many trees. Schools can teach students about the importance of rainforests.
In short, rainforests are vital for our planet. We must protect them now, or it will be too late. Every small action, like planting a tree or telling friends about rainforests, can help.

Making a nature book is a fun way to record what you see in nature. Here are 4 easy steps:
First, choose a theme for your book. 36 Common themes include “Desert Plants”, “Rainforest Animals”, or “My Hometown Nature”. Pick a theme you like—this makes the book more interesting.
Second, collect materials for your book. 37 You need a notebook (A5 size is good), colored pens, and photos. You can take photos of plants or animals when you go outside, or print photos from the internet (ask your parents first).
Third, organize your content. 38 For each page, write one thing about your theme. For example, if your theme is “Desert Plants”, one page can be about cactuses—write “Cactuses store water in their stems” and stick a photo of a cactus. Add colors with your pens to make the page beautiful.
Fourth, decorate your book. 39 You can draw small flowers or leaves on the cover. Write the title of your book (like “My Desert Book”) in big letters. You can also add stickers of animals if you have them.
When your book is done, show it to your family or friends. They will love reading about your nature discoveries!
A. Materials are things you need to make the book.
B. The theme is what your book is about.
C. Don’t organize the content—just put photos anywhere.
D. Decorating makes your book look more attractive.
E. Arrange your photos and writing neatly on each page.
40. What theme will you choose for your nature book What will you write on the first page (Answer in one sentence.)
