Dear Jim,
Delighted to hear that you're fascinated by the Xuzhou Food Culture Festival, I'm more than delighted to share some details with you.
Aimed at promoting the local cuisine culture and drawing tourists from home and abroad, the festival, which was held in our city last week, turned out to be a huge success. There were numerous delicious dishes on exhibition, among which the barbecue and Diguo Chicken, both having a long history, were the most popular. The people present praised the delicacies highly and reluctant to head out.
Not only did chefs give live demonstrations on how to prepare these dishes, but they also introduced the interesting stories behind them. Through participating in the festival, I gained a deeper appreciation for Xuzhou's food heritage. So appealing were the delicacies and the culture that I felt incredibly proud of my hometown.
If you ever visit Xuzhou, I'll surely take you to taste all these amazing foods!
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua
第二节(满分25分)
参考范文1:
Para1:I practiced again and again, but it wasn’t easy. Each time I attempted to cut a dragon, the delicate paper would tear apart under my clumsy hands and sometimes I accidentally cut through the paper entirely. Frustration grew within me, and I was on the verge of quitting when Grandpa gently picked up one of my imperfect works and said softly, “I went through this too. Just remember that every cut holds a piece of our history.” His words resonated deeply within me, reigniting my determination. Though my fingers grew sore, I persisted. Finally, a vividly crafted dragon emerged from my hands—a reward for all my efforts.
Para2:On the day of the exhibition, I brought the paper-cuts to school— a crane, a flower, and a small dragon. As I placed them on the display table, I couldn’t help but feel nervous. Initially, a few classmates cast skeptical glances and whispered to one another. But when I placed them under the light, their delicate patterns caught everyone’s attention. Soon a small crowd gathered around my desk. To my delight, several classmates expressed interest in learning the craft. I demonstrated the basic techniques—the same folds and cuts that Grandpa had patiently taught me. At that moment, I finally understood—tradition isn’t old or useless. It connects the past to the present, and I’m proud to become a guardian of this living legacy.
参考范文2:
Para1:I practiced again and again, but it wasn’t easy. I devoted myself to daily practice, yet the delicate art of paper-cutting proved far more challenging than I had imagined. My attempts at creating a dragon consistently ended in disappointment. The dragon I painstakingly cut would tear at the slightest mishandling, and sometimes my unsteady hands would cut straight through the paper, ruining hours of work. Frustration mounted until I stood on the verge of giving up. It was then that Grandpa gently emerged. Holding up my imperfect work, he shared these simple but profound words: “Every cut carries our history.” His wisdom refreshed my confidence. Through sore fingers and weary eyes, I persisted—until at last, a beautifully shaped dragon emerged.
Para2:On the day of the exhibition, I brought the paper-cuts to school— a crane, a flower, and a small dragon. As I arranged my paper-cuts on the display table, nervous anticipation filled me. The initial skeptical glances and whispers from classmates soon gave way to curious murmurs as the delicate patterns emerged under the soft light. Before long, a small crowd had gathered around my workstation. To my delight, several students asked to learn the craft. Guiding their hands through the same folds and cuts Grandpa had taught me, I suddenly understood: tradition is not a relic of the past, but a living bridge connecting generations—and I had become its grateful guardian.

Text 10 (第17题为总结题)
Good morning, everyone. Today, I’d like to give a lecture on cycling tours. Well, for anyone who is considering going on a cycling tour, the first thing to consider is safety. So, it’s very important to consider what to wear. Wear something that can easily be seen — a red jacket, for example. You know, many accidents happen because drivers simply fail to see the cyclists. (18) Second, don’t try to ride too far or too quickly. Take your time, and if you feel tired, stop and rest. The speed is not important. Remember that the true joy of a cycling tour is the ride itself. (19) Get close to nature and see things you wouldn’t normally see when you travel by car or bus. And if you’re planning your journey in the summer, drink plenty of water every hour. If the weather is cold, make sure you take some warm clothes with you and put them on when you stop riding. Even in cold weather, you can feel very hot while riding, and it’s very easy to catch a cold or even get a fever when you stop. (20)2025~2026学年度第一学期期中学情调研
