＆ so that
Today, we’re going to learn these three magic structures:

so that 引导目的状语从句
1. Sanxingdui is such a wonderful place that people visit it from all over the world. (para. 5)

Adverbial clauses with
so/such ... that ...
so/such ... that ... 引导结果状语从句
① The bronze mask is so strange that all kids stop to watch it.
so ... that ... 引导结果状语从句
这个青铜面具太奇特，所有孩子都停下来观赏。
② I was so careless that I forgot something important.
我真是粗心，以至于忘记了重要的事情。
so ... that ... 结构的意思是“太……以至于……”。
③ He speaks so fast that I cannot understand him.
他说话太快了，以至于我没理解他的意思。
so后面接形容词或副词，表示程度，that后接从句表示这一程度造成的影响或结果。
结构为：so + 形容词/副词 + that + 从句
② It is such nice weather that I’d like to take a walk.
天气如此好，因此我想去散散步。
① It’s such an interesting film that we all want to
see it.
这部电影很有趣，我们都想去看。
such ... that ... 也可以引导结果状语从句。
与so ... that ...不同的是：such后面接名词或名词词组，（可数或不可数），名词前可以有形容词修饰。
结构为：such (+ a/an) + 形容词 + 名词 + that ...
1.单数可数名词有修饰的形容词时，so和such均可用，
但两者结构不同：
主语 + 谓语 + such + a/an + adj.+ n. + that 从句
= 主语 + 谓语 + so + adj. + a/an + n. + that 从句
It is such an interesting film that I’d like to see it once again.
= It is so interesting a film that I’d like to see it once again.
这是一部非常有趣的电影，我想再看一遍。
2. so ... that 后面的从句为否定句，且从句主语与
主句主语相同时，该复合句可与以下结构转换：
① too + adj. + to do；
② not + adj. + enough + to do
She is so short that she can’t get the book on the shelf.
= She is too short to get the book on the shelf.
= She isn’t tall enough to get the book on the shelf.
她太矮了，拿不到书架上的书。

为了能够参军，木兰穿戴成男人的样子。
② I got up very early
为了能按时到校，我很早就起床了。
如果从句表示的是主句行为的目的，该从句就是目的状语从句。
目的状语从句有一个特点：从句中一般都含有表示可能性的词语，比如上面两句中的could。其他可以表示可能性的词语还有will，would，can等。
目的状语从句可以由so that引导。
so that 引导目的状语从句
so that引导目的状语从句时，常和in order that引导的从句或in order to短语互换。
I got up very early so that / in order that I could get to school on time.
= I got up very early in order to get to school on time.

The Terracotta Army is one of the most
famous archaeological discoveries in China.
The site lies in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province. It was discovered in 1974 by local farmers. Archaeologists have worked at the place since then. They have discovered thousands of soldiers and horses and still study the site carefully today.
This discovery is very important. It provides a missing piece of history about the Qin Dynasty. The warriors are so well-made that each one has a different face.
