What do you know about Peru
Warming-up:
It’s a country with the world’s longest mountain range, largest rainforest, oldest settlements, and great ancient civilisation.
It’s a country with coasts, highlands, and jungles(丛林). You can trek(跋涉)through hot,humid(潮湿的) jungles one day, and cold dry glaciers(冰川) the next.
Lima city, capital of Peru, is the country’s commercial and industrial centre., mixed with colonial (殖民的) architecture and modern architecture.
Lake Titicaca at Puno(普诺市) is the largest lake in South America, and at a height of 3,812 metres,it is often considered the world's highest lake.
The Amazon Rainforest, the largest rainforest in the world, plays a significant role in maintaining(维持) the fine balance of the Earth’s ecosystem with more than half the size of China.
Machu Picchu, known as The Lost City of Incas, is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Amazingly, no wheels were used to transport heavy rocks for the construction of the city.
