Dear Nancy,
Learning that you will come to Hangzhou for the 2022 Asian Games,I’m more than delighted.
As for how to improve your spoken Chinese in a short time,I’d like to give you some suggestions as
follows.
To begin with, make more Chinese friends in your daily life, with whom you can practice your
spoken Chinese. What’s more,it would be also good ways to listen to Chinese songs and watch Chinese
movies ,which can help you broaden your horizons and gain some Chinese. Last but not least, reading
and writing in Chinese will be definitely of great benefit to your oral Chinese level.
I hope you’ll make great progress in oral Chinese.
Yours,
Li Hua

续写小故事 (15分)
They went home and hunted through their own closets(衣橱). The next day at school, they met
Todd and asked him to come into the hall. Todd was anxious about being called out by the two boys.
He wasn’t smiling or anything. His reaction was perfectly understandable in the circumstances. “We are
in the same grade, and I owe you an apology for laughing at you. I want to give something to you to
compensate for it,” Graham told him. He then handed a huge bag to Todd, inside which were clean
shirts and shorts, plus a brand-new pair of New Balance sneakers. Todd was moved, his eyes filling
with tears.
And what Todd got was not only clothes, but also friends. He no longer sits alone at lunch. Now he
eats with Garrett and Graham.
“I have always been bullied in the past,” Todd said. “Looking back on the day when Garrett and
Graham called me into the hall, I think it is actually the best day of my entire life.”

Since the age of three, Chelsie Hill had dreamed of becoming a dancer. That ambition nearly ended one night in 2010. Hill, then a 17-year-old high school senior in California, was in a car accident that left her paralyzed ( 残 疾 的 ) from the waist down. For most people, that would have ruined any hope of a dancing career. For Hill, it was the beginning. Far from being an obstacle, her wheelchair encouraged her. “I wanted to prove to my community—and to myself—that I was still ‘normal.’”
Normal for her meant dancing, so Hill did it in her wheelchair. “Half of my body was taken away from me, and I have to move it with my hands. It definitely took a lot of learning and patience.” After graduation, Hill wanted to expand her dance network to include women like her. She met people online who
had suffered various spinal cord (脊柱) injuries but shared her determination, and she invited them to dance with her. “It was such an amazing experience.”
Hoping to reach more people in a larger city, Hill moved to Los Angeles in 2018 and formed a team of dancers with disabilities she calls the Rollettes. “I want to show that dance is dance, whether you’re walking or you’re rolling.”
Dancing on wheels, the Rollettes discovered, can be just as fast-paced, graceful as dancing on foot. Edna Serrano says that being part of the Rollettes team has given her the courage. “I didn’t know I could do so many things that these girls have taught me,” she says. “They’re my teachers. I have more confidence.”
Which of the following words can best describe Hill
A. confident and honest B. determined and active
C. courageous and polite D. learned and experienced
What can be inferred about the Rollettes
A. It was founded in Hill’s hometown. B. Every dance lover can join in it.
C. It helped many disabled people like Hill. D. It has some dance teachers giving lessons. 23 . What message is shown in the story
A. Always prepare for a rainy day. B. Misfortunes never come alone.
C. Health is not valued till sickness comes D. Where there is a will, there is a way.
B
It happened on a rainy Saturday morning last month. My wife Catherine and I were driving along what some people called moose alley(麋鹿通道). It was so early that there were few cars on the road. Suddenly, something happened. A moose jumped out across our path. I had been driving for years and was good at driving. In order to avoid knocking into the moose, I made a quick turn to the other lane. If I had not done that, the moose might have been killed, and my wife and I might have got injured, too. A few seconds later, when stopped and looked back in my rear view mirror, the moose was getting up and then ran into the bush. Shaken but fine, we both looked at each other with a surprised expression.
From then on, I often thought about the relationship between humans and wildlife. We know that animal species(物种) have appeared and disappeared continually since life began on the Earth. It is quite natural. However, animal species have been decreasing at a much faster rate for about a century now because of human factors (因素) such as pollution.
Certain philosophers and scientists keep repeating that if we don't save animals, how we will be able to save ourselves. A better knowledge of animals gives us a better understanding of our own species. The will to protect animals and nature in general shows the value of a society. And all animals play roles in nature and have a right to survive. Therefore, I think we should try our best to save endangered animals, because humans cannot live on the Earth alone.
What happened on a rainy Saturday morning last month
My wife and I were both injured in the accident.
My car knocked into a moose running across the path.
A moose was killed because of the knock on my car.
With my good driving skills, we successfully avoided hitting a moose.
According to the passage, which of the following is not the factor of animal decreasing
A. pollution B. overhunting C. earthquake D. habitat loss
What’s the main idea of the passage
A. No animal, no human B. Focus on animal activities all the time
C. Human activities must be stopped D. Animals are more important than humans
C
There are a lot of names for people who travel the world --- backpackers, tourists, explorers, travelers. Labels(标签)are everywhere but seem especially popular among travelers trying to differentiate(区别) their style of travel. For many travelers, these labels make them feel better over another.
Andrew Zimmern from Bizarre Foods once said, “Please be a traveler, not a tourist. Try new things,
meet new people, and look beyond what’s right in front of you. Those are the keys to understanding this amazing world we live in.” The idea here is that travelers are better at exploring the world than tourists. They dig deep into the culture, drink it up, and get to know a place while a tourist takes pictures and declares to have “done Paris.”
But that’s wrong. we are all tourists.
On the road, backpackers love to talk about how real their travels are and how unreal tourists are. “Look at those tourists over there,” they say. They scoff at others who travel too quickly or to places that they think are not well worth visiting. Nevertheless, they do so while eating hamburgers and drinking beers with other travelers.
The only way to really get to know a place deeply is to live there. If you want to live like a local, find an apartment, get a job, go to work, and do the same things as you did back home.
We are all only passing through a culture, getting a small taste before moving on to the next place. Even if we stay weeks or months, we’re just getting in touch with the surface. As a matter of fact, we are all really just tourists, or explorers, or travelers. Call yourself whatever you want --- it’s all the same as we’re all trying to do the same thing --- see the world.
So don’t label anyone and don’t let anyone label you. We’re all tourists. We’re all travelers. What we are all doing is more important than what we call ourselves. Let’s just enjoy the fact that we are simply people on the road.
The purpose of Andrew Zimmern’s words in Paragraph 2 is to .
A. present amazing experiences B. tell travelers from tourists
C. get to know different people D. give an example of misunderstanding
Which of the following can best replace the underlined phrase “scoff at” in Paragraph 4
A. laugh at. B. model after C. take notice of. D. agree with
What do tourists and travelers have in common
A. They live like locals while traveling. B. They have a brief experience of places.
C. They enjoy tasty food on the way. D. They like calling themselves explorers.
What does the author imply in the passage
A. Explore deep into cultures. B. Make a detailed trip schedule.
C. Just enjoy the trip on the road. D. Simply be more a traveller than a tourist
第二节(共 5 小题;每小题 2 分,满分 10 分)
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Phone interviews ( 面 试 ) are typically meant as a way to take out applicants who are unfit for the position, and offer a chance to those with potential for an interview. 31 It gives the employer a brief idea of your background, personality, and overall “fit” for the position. With that in mind, you can prepare for the most common questions.
32 Preparing for this question in advance allows you to think about your goals, your past work experiences, and even your hobbies going with the position. You don’t want to sound too well-prepared but writing down a few notes on your background can make this question easier to reply.
Salary (薪水) requirement is another question you should be prepared to answer. 33 Does the job list a salary What is the average salary for this position etc. In most cases, it’s best to reply that you are open in terms of salary, especially if you don’t want to lose the position.
A third question to be considered is “Why do you want this position ”. Basically, they want to know why you’re interested in this company.Doing your research and bringing up some of the company’s core values or other details will only strengthen your interest. 34
Last but not least, you will be asked when you can start. This is up to your unique situation. 35
If you need more time, you should not only state that, but also explain why in order to show that you’re still interested in the position, but have other reasons for additional time.
You ’d better do your research in advance.
Generally, a phone interview is the first step in the hiring process.
Prepare to explain employment gaps so as not to make you look bad.
Your answers will let the interviewer know more about your personality.
Don’t hesitate to tell the interviewer that you are interested in the position.
An interview will often begin with the question of “Tell me about yourself”.
However, most applicants will require two weeks’ notice from the offer acceptance.
