The first photo in history
据史料记载，1826年，法国发明家约瑟夫 尼塞福尔 尼埃普斯(Joseph Nicéphore Nièpce)拍下了人类史上的第一张照片，名为《在Le Gras的窗外景色》。
这张照片显示的是从尼埃普斯家里的楼上看到的窗户外的庭院和外屋。拍摄的方法则是通过在针孔照相机内的一块沥青金属板上曝光而形成的，当时曝光这张照片花了8个小时的时间，因此可以看到阳光散落到建筑物的两边。
虽然这张照片的色调很暗，而且画面模糊，需要从特定的角度才能看清，但这些都不影响它作为摄影史上里程碑的地位。
但可惜的是，如此前卫的发明仍无法引起英国皇家学会(Britain’s Royal Society)的兴趣，照片也因此流落四处，尼埃普斯错失了成名的机会。
大概50年后，在历史学家赫尔穆特(Helmut Gernsheim)努力不懈地追查下，这张《在Le Gras的窗外景色》终于重见天日,并于1898年在伦敦第一次展出。
《在Le Gras的窗外景色》是摄影术发明道路上的一个重大突破，是人类历史上最早的永久保存下来的拍摄自然的照片，它因此而闻名。

透析“There be”
“There be”句型是英语中常见的又是非常重要的句型，不管在口语中还是在书面语中，“There be”句型的使用频率都是很高的。
●“There be”句型概述
“There be”句型表示“某处有(存在)某人或某物”，其后面的名词是句子的主语，There在此结构中是引导词，并不是副词“那里”的含义。“There be”句型最简单的结构为：There be(is/ are) +名词+某处。例如：
There is a ball on the chair. 椅子上有一个球。
There are thirty pupils in our class. 我们班有30个学生。
【提 示】There is可以缩写为：There’s；There are可以缩写为：There’re。
●“There be”句型的句式
1. 肯定句 There be(is/ are) +名词+某处。例如：
There is a pencil on the book. 书上有一只铅笔。
There are four horses under the tree. 树下有四匹马。
2. 否定句 There is/ are not +名词+某处。
(1) is后面加not，is not可以缩写为：isn’t。例如：
There is not/ isn’t a tree in front of the house.
房子前面没有一棵树。
(2)are后面加not，are not可以缩写为：aren’t。例如：
There are not/ aren’t many tigers in the zoo.
动物园里没有许多老虎。
3. 一般疑问句 Is/ Are there +名词+某处+
将is或are移到句首，并大写首字母i或a，再在句尾加上问号。例如：
Is there a chair behind the door 门后面有一把椅子吗？
Are there three pens in the bag 书包里有三只钢笔吗？
4. 肯定和否定回答
(1)肯定回答：Yes, there is/ are. (2)否定回答：No, there isn’t/ aren’t.
Is there an apple on the table 桌子上有一个苹果吗？
Yes, there is./ No, there isn’t. 是的，有。/ 不，没有。
Are there three bikes in the room 房间里有三辆自行车吗？
Yes, there are./ No, there aren’t. 是的，有。/ 不，没有。
●“There be”句型的用法
(1)is后面接单数可数名词或不可数名词。例如：
There is a doll in the box. 盒子里有一个洋娃娃。
There is some milk in the cup. 杯子里有一些牛奶。
(2)are后面接可数名词复数。例如：
There are twenty-five desks in the classroom.
教室里有二十五张课桌。
(3)两个或两个以上的名词作并列主语时，be的形式则和第一个名词保持一
致。例如：
There is a pen and two books on the desk. 课桌上有一枝钢笔和两本书。
There are two footbals and one basketball under the bed.
床下有两个足球和一个篮球。
(4)如果肯定句中含有some时，变成否定句或疑问句时，要将some变
成any。例如：
There are some hamburgers on the plate.→
There are not any hamburgers on the plate.

Pigs might(can) fly.——猪也能飞吗？
习语“Pigs might(can) fly.”的字面意思是：猪可能会飞。可是猪压根儿就不会飞呀，那为什么说猪可能会飞呢？请看下面的对话：
A: I can run 100 meters in eight seconds.
我能在八秒内跑完100米。
B: Heh heh. Pigs might fly! 嘿嘿。无稽之谈！/ 绝不可能！
“Pigs might(can) fly.”源于苏格兰谚语，它表示“无稽之谈，根本不可能的事”。因为猪没有翅膀，不可能飞。当你要表达自己对不可能发生的事情持否定态度时，就可以用这句话，其含有嘲笑讽刺或调侃的意味。
