一、教材分析
本单元围绕Could you please tell me where the restrooms are 这个话题,设计了相关的语言情景。围绕如何学会如何有礼貌地获得信息,培养日常生活中问路与指路的能力。重点学习掌握宾语从句。教学中通过听说训练,俩俩结对活动和小组活动来训练核心句型。其次通过听力训练,Pair work活动和小组之间的合作交流,进一步巩固这一语言现象,提高学生的听说技能和运用语言的能力。
二、学情分析
九年级学生通过两年的学习已经具有一定的英语基础知识和语言表达能力。在八年级下册第四单元学习直接引语和间接引语时,学生已经接触过宾语从句。在此基础上去学习新的语言就容易多了,也能激发他们的语言学习兴趣和求知欲。而本单元学习内容及谈话的主题“问路与指路”贴近学生的生活,学生比较感兴趣也乐于参与语言实践活动。那么教学中我尽量创设情境,根据他们自身生活体验,鼓励他们大胆参与任务型教学实践活动,自主学习,合作交流。
Period I Section A 1 (1a-2d)
一、教学目标
1. 语言知识目标:
1) 能掌握以下单词:restroom, stamp, beside, postcard, pardon, bathroom, rush
能掌握以下句型:
① Excuse me, could you please tell me how to get to the bookstore  
② Do you know when the bookstore closes today  
③ Excuse me, do you know where I can get some postcards  
④ The supermarket is between the flower store and the bookstore.  
2) 能了解以下语法:
能用宾语从句礼貌地寻求帮助。
3)能用正确的方法指路。
2. 情感态度价值观目标:
中国自古以来就是文明礼仪之邦,讲文明、懂礼貌是我们中华民族的传统美德。教育学生要尊重他人,对人有礼貌,热爱生活,弘扬和传承中国文化礼仪的传统美德。

1)掌握本课时的单词及短语。
2) 学会运用宾语从句有礼貌地向他人询问信息。
3)beside 与 besides 的区别;动词 rush 的用法。

学生们根据短语图片提示与教师进行热身对话:

Learn the new words in Section A 1 (1a-2d).
Ⅲ. Game
1. Let Ss match each thing with a place in the picture in 1a as much as possible. Have a look at who will finish them most quickly and correctly.
2. Correct the answer to 1a.
Ⅳ. Listening
Listen and complete the conversations in the picture in 1b. Then check the answers with the whole class.
Ⅴ. Pair work
Make conversations using the information in 1a. Then talk about your own city. For example:
A: Excuse me, could you please tell me how to get to the bookstore
B: Sure, just go along Main Street until you pass Center Street. The bookstore is on your right, beside the bank.
A: Thanks. Do you know when the bookstore closes today
B: It closes at 7:00 p.m. today.

VI. Grammar
Objective clauses with wh-questions
上一个单元我们已经学习了由that和whether, if引导的宾语从句。这个单元我们继续学习由疑问词引导的宾语从句。疑问词:疑问代词(what、whom、who、whose、which)疑问副词(when、where、why、how)。
语序:无论主句是陈述句还是疑问句,也无论主从句间是什么引导词,宾语从句一律用陈述语序,即“引导词+主语+谓语+其它”。如:Could you tell me where Wei Fang lives
时态
1. 如果主句是一般现在时或一般将来时,宾语从句的时态不受限制,可根据实际表达的需要来确定。如:
You will understand why I did it one day.
总有一天你会明白我为什么那样做。
2. 如果主句是一般过去时,宾语从句用过去时态的某种形式。如:
I thought he had gone to town that day.
我以为他那天进城去了。
3. 如果宾语从句叙述的是客观事实、自然现象或科学真理等,从句不受主句时态的限制,用一般现在时。如:
He said time is money.
他说时间就是金钱。

2. 两人一组进行4c的对话练习。一个扮演旅游者,另外一个扮演导游,根据阅读对话中的内容及4a,4b给出的句子编写对话。四人一组选出一篇优秀对话,参加班级对话表演。然后选出班级优秀对话,在展台上展示对话内容,集体欣赏佳作。
