1基本概念
1）表示在过去时间里所发生的动作或存在的状态
例：The panda gave birth to a baby last Tuesday.
大熊猫上周二产下了一只小熊猫。

2）表示在过去一段时间里，经常性或习惯性的动作或状态
例：I watched the World Cup every day last month.
上个月我每天都看世界杯比赛。
I collected coins when I was a child.
我小的时候收集硬币。

一般过去时间，常与表示过去的时间状语yesterday , the day before yesterday , last + 时间 , this morning 时间 + ago , just now , a moment ago , in + 过去的时间，连用

动词过去式不规则变化之一：
这里的AA表示动词原形与动词过去式一致。这些动词有：
put put, cut cut, let let,
cost cost, hurt hurt, read read, beat beat
（注意：read写法相同，读音不同。其它写法和读音都相同。）

5 句式变化
1）一般过去时的否定句：
如果句中有be动词和情态动词，在后面直接加not, 如果句中谓语动词是其他动词，在动词前面加didn’t.
例如：
He didn't go climbing with his friends yesterday.
他昨天没有和他的朋友去爬山。

2）一般过去时的一般疑问句：
如果句中有be动词和情态动词，直接把be动词或情态动词提前，放到句首, 如果句中谓语动词是其他动词，在句首加Did.
例如：Did your father drive you to school yesterday
你爸爸昨天开车送你上学了吗？

5 句式变化
2）一般过去时的特殊疑问句：
特殊疑问词开头，后面加一般疑问句。
例如：What did you often do when you were a child
一般过去时
顺口溜
动词一般过去时，表示过去发生的事；
be用was或用were，have，has变had；
谓语动词过去式，过去时间作标志；
一般动词加-ed，若是特殊得硬记。
否定句很简单，主语之后didn’t添；
疑问句也不难，did放在主语前；
如果谓语之前有did，谓语动词需还原；
动词若是was，were，否定就把not添。
