She stood by the window, joyfully and patiently watching. Golden sunlight danced in her long hair and the children's laughter floated in the air. She stared at the end of the road, hoping her close friend would come earlier. It seemed as if she had been standing there for a century. Suddenly a wave of happiness and excitement seized/ took hold of/swept over/came over her when she caught sight of a familiar figure. Her heart leaped with joy, and a shining smile lit up her face. She ran to her friend and threw herself into her friend's arms. Tears of joy/happiness/excitement welled up in their eyes as they hugged tightly together.

John had always told him that outside the window, there was an amazing park. Mike struggled to walk to the window. Surprisingly, it faced a blank wall. Mike received a severe shock, as if by a blow on the head from a well-directed mallet(球棒). He rubbed his eyes hard, stared. His mouth dropped/hung open in surprise. He froze there for a while, wide-eyed, as if rooted to the ground. He was speechless with shock when he thought of the beautiful scene John had described to him every day. Confused and astonished, he gaped at the wall. “Why is it a wall ” he murmured. Shaking his head in disbelief, he still couldn’t believe his eyes.

He didn't get an A in the exam as expected. He shook his head and looked upset. His friend patted his shoulder, and whispered to comfort him. He dropped/lowered his head to hide his sadness and managed a smile. Then he headed slowly home, his head down, tears in eyes. On the step, he took a deep breath, pushed open the door and stepped inside. Noticing him come in, his mother stopped her housework, raising her head with surprise in her eyes. He threw himself into his mother's arms and buried his head in her skirt, weeping.

Jenny walked nervously, and bent down to start a somersault. When she rolled, she fell heavily on the blanket. Kids laughed in surprise at the noise. Standing uncomfortably and hopelessly and feeling as if the whole world was laughing at her, Jenny was so ashamed that the color flooded her cheeks. She must be really stupid to fall down in the game! Disappointment and embarrassment written in her burning face, she felt tears began to well up in her eyes. In bitter disappointment and desperation, she ran swiftly to her room and locked herself in. Embarrassment and the feeling of failure flooding to her, she threw herself into the bed, weeping wildly.

Wang Hua failed to work out the two questions on the math paper, and the bell rang, signaling the ending of the exam. Wang Hua dragged her heavy legs with a sinking heart and moved out of the classroom. She dropped/ hung her head in sadness, great sorrow/ sadness clouding her eyes. An air of sadness could be sensed ten meters away. Soon, her eyes began to water. Definitely, she would fail the math exam! Disappointment and sadness came in waves, and tears streamed down her cheeks. The only thing she was desperate to do was rush back home and throw herself into her little bed and weep, wildly!

Thinking that she might get a bad mark, Wang Hua felt a sense of frustration welling up in her heart and surging through her. Upset and desperate, she dragged her heavy legs and stepped out of the classroom. The air was filled with sorrow. Without hesitation, She rushed back home immediately. At the sight of her parents, she was seized by a strong sense of shame with her palms sweating . She lowered her head and feared to meet their gaze. Her parents were so astonished that they asked what had happened with anxiety. Eventually, she stammered out the reason, her face flushing. However, her parents didn’t scold her,Her mother patted her on the shoulder and comforted her. with tears sliding down her cheeks, she threw herself into her mother’s arms.
