Recently I paid a visit to Harvard University, where there
are top class scientists and professors and the best academic system in the
world.
I was pretty shocked when I first stepped into the campus.
Well, it's not even really a campus. It's
more like a district in a small town. Harvard's main buildings are from
the 18th century. They
look very old and simple. You might
even say they're a little shabby. They
don't fit the modern idea of the university at all. The buildings are surrounded
by grass and trees, so I felt as if I had walked into an ancient castle. But
when I looked across the street, busy shops and in-fashion students made me
feel like I was in the 21st century again. It creates a strong
contrast and brings a special atmosphere to the school.
Our tour guide Gary took us around and told us, "You
see this grass field in the center of the school Here is where they host(举办)
their graduation ceremony. They just set up tents and beaches and have a very
simple ceremony." Unbelievable! Who would think the most talented students
just graduate on the lawn
I saw some students put a blanket on the grass and lie
down to read a book. When I listened to the soft sound of pages turning, along
with singing of the birds, I felt very calm. There was no competitive feeling
at all.
Harvard has the world's first computer in its science
center and there are hundreds of high-end (高端 的 )computers, too. Its religion
and the literature departments are also among the best. It is the perfect mix
of tradition and new technology. It makes Harvard a very attractive place to
study in.
I hope one day I'll attend my dream school—Harvard.

Trees are one of the oldest " citizens(公民)" of
our Earth. They keep our air clean, reduce noise pollution, improve water

Just like us, trees change a lot as they grow. At 1 to 3
years old, young trees learn how to protect themselves. For example, many trees
grow thorns( 刺 ) to warn animals not to go near. Most young trees have large, deep
green leaves so that they can catch enough sunlight and change it into their
food and energy.
When trees are 4 years old, they begin to grow very
rapidly and become strong enough to face challenges later in life. At the age
of 15, trees become young adults. They grow more slowly and begin to produce

die. At this time, they still have their important place in nature. When a tree
becomes hollow(空心的) or part of it becomes dead, it provides a home to small

used to do固定短语,“过去常常”,因此要删掉was。故删掉was。

故are改为is。
(10)句意:所以要善待你身边的人!be kind to sb. 故for改为to。
Dear Peter,
How is it going I am writing to share with you the interesting trip that my family members and I had during the National Holiday, wishing that it can bring much pleasure to you at the same time.
First of all, we went to Zoige grassland which is so gorgeous that there are a great many tourists coming there every year. What impressed us most was that people there were so simple and friendly, not only making us feel at home, but also giving us a sense of relaxation. The more you got along with them, the better you would feel. In addition to attractive scenery, it was burning sheep, beef, zanba and buttered tea that left a deep impression on me. What's more, we took part in a series of activities. For example, we rode a horse on the vast grassland, enjoying the most beautiful sunset and the softness of wind
All in all, enjoyable and relaxing, this trip broadens my eyes and encourages me to get close to nature. What I do hope is that one day we can travel together. I am looking forward to your reply!

Trees are one of the oldest " citizens(公民)" of
our Earth. They keep our air clean, reduce noise pollution, improve water
quality and provide food and building materials.
They grow more slowly and begin to produce
flowers and fruit.
It is not until the tree is 20 to 25 years old that it
becomes a real adult. The tree reaches its largest size. The adult tree gives
us shade, oxygen and natural beauty; it is also a great place for a tree house,
or a place for us to read a book, listen to music and so on. If we give the
adult tree proper care, it will go on to live healthily for many years.
Gradually, trees begin to grow older and older and even
die. At this time, they still have their important place in nature. When a tree
becomes hollow(空心的) or part of it becomes dead, it provides a home to small
animals and is a source of food for many other animals.
In many ways, the life of a tree is similar to our own
life experience. When we are looking at the life of a tree, we learn about that
each period of life brings its own form of joy and challenge. Enjoy every minute of the life of

Mom was used to give us something special for dinner when I was girl. She once put some burnt breads in front of Dad. To my surprised, Dad just smiled at Mom and eat it up. After dinner, Mom said sorry to Dad for the bread, and Dad said, "I true love burnt bread, dear." That night, I asked Dad if he really liked the bread. He said: " My mom is tired, and you see—a bit of burnt food never hurts anyone!" Now I know life is not perfect. Nobody are perfect. What we really need is to understand each other. So be kind for those around you!
【答案】①去掉used前面的was②girl 前加a③breads 改成bread④surprised 改成surprise⑤eat 改成ate⑥Dad前的and 改成but⑦My mother 前的My 改成Your⑧Nobody后的are改成is⑨for 改成to
used to do固定短语,“过去常常”,因此要删掉was。故删掉was。
故and改为but。
故My改为Your。

Yours
Li Hua
