The play The Million Pound Bank Note is based upon a story by Mark Twain.
In the play, an American by the name of Henry Adams is washed ashore in England without money or friends. By chance, he is made the subject of a bet by two wealthy brothers. Their wager is over whether someone could live in London for thirty days without money besides a million-pound bank note, which he couldn’t deposit in a bank or spend. After possessing the note, Henry finds that people’s attitudes towards him drastically change, and everyone tries to help him. He moves into a nice hotel, he makes business deals, and he falls in love, but there are a few hiccups along the way. For example, he loses the bank note.
I like the play because it was funny with exciting twists and turns. I recommend it to everyone.
文章语言流畅, 用上了be based upon, By chance, recommend...to...
