Immoral Behaviors in Public
We cannot fail to notice that countless uncivilized behaviors exist in our daily lives, such as spitting, talking loudly, littering, saying nasty words in public places and so forth. All these are bad manners that we should not lose sight of. As an ancient land enjoying a splendid civilization spanning over 5,000 years, China is witnessing a surge in improper acts that every Chinese citizen should feel ashamed of. Uncivilized behaviors by a host of Chinese both at home and abroad have seriously affected China’s image, according to an editorial posted on People Daily’s official website.
As Chinese, we should not get offended when others point out our weaknesses but should focus more attention on improving ourselves. We should strive to identify the causes of those improper behaviors and find ways to eliminate them. There are a host of causes, I would argue, behind this trend. To name only one: the lack of moral education. The government should wage a massive moral campaign to fight against this trend and we ourselves should endeavor to behave decently in our daily lives. As college students of the new age, we should take the leading role.

Last week our class had a discussion around the phenomenon that an increasing number of fans crazily chase their idols .We made it our topic that why thesepeople ,especially young students chase these celebrities.
　　When it comes to the symptoms of worshipping a star, the main factor I’d like to mention is imitation. With a blind love for their idols, teenagers firmly believe that their choices are the best things in life. As a result, the stars’ clothes, hairstyles and hobbies are closely observed or followed, as well as their behaviors in public, though, to some extent, improper or even ridiculous sometimes.
　　However, as is universally known to us all, idols can be found everywhere but there is the only ego-self. While you’re imitating to be someone else, where are you in this world No one can take the place of you unless you give it up yourself. Additionally, imitation means more than abandoning your own goals. Since you’re wandering along your life road aimlessly, it’s so predictable a failure that you can neither enjoy your idol’s rise to fame, nor gain from your messy school work. Eventually, you have to bite the bullet yourself.
　　As far as I’m concerned, our future should be more dependent on knowledge rather than star-worshipping. Scientists are the ones who help push forward the course of history. It’s required for us to concentrate on study and contribute as much as we can to society.
To sum up, I hold the view that we should put more attention to our own life rather than chasing behind others. Try to make the best of your life.
