一、本单元教学内容
本单元的话题是保护环境,主要让学生对环境破坏有一个直观的认识,从而激发学生强烈的社会责任感和对未来发展的思考。1a-2c是一个听说链,是section A 的基础,让学生对环境污染的类型有一个初步的了解,同时谈论了一些解决空气污染和垃圾污染的方法,并为接下来的学习做好内容和词汇上的准备。3a-3c 是阅读任务,介绍了人类捕捉鲨鱼获取鱼翅,破坏生态平衡的情况,文章内容紧扣单元话题,呼吁人们保护鲨鱼,渗透了对学生的情感教育。Section B 进一步展开谈论如何保护环境。Section A 主要谈论保护地球的各种方式。2a-2e是阅读部分,用了三个有同样前缀的词语 rethink,reuse,recycle 来作为文章的标题,介绍了三个在怀抱方面有突出贡献的人物以及他们的做法,让学生在理解的基础上针对相关话题发表自己的看法。3a-3b 首先通过填写表格让学生思考自己周围的环境情况,为写作提供素材,让学生在头脑中形成此类写作的相关框架。
二、学情
通过差不多三年的初中英语学习,这个学期的九年级学生已经掌握了一定的英语基础,包括有关动物名称的名词及描写动物特征的形容词等等;加上这个年龄的学生在心理方面也相对比较成熟,思维也非常活跃,他们收集信息,整合信息的能力也有所提高,也能运用所具备的英语知识及收集到的信息来就某一话题展开话题。
教学目标
1. 语言知识目标:基本词汇,基本词组,基本句型
2. 技能目标: 能正确运用现在进行时,现在完成时,被动语态,情态动词和used to 句型。
3. 情感目标: 有环境危机意识,学会关注环境保护环境。
四、3a-3b 教学设计
1、教学目标:
(1)、学习新词和词组
shark, fin, cruel, harmful, chain, ecosystem, industry, law, scientific,be harmful to,at the top of, the food chain
(2)、复习单词和词组
ocean, endangered, hear of, cut off, no longer, bring danger to, the number of
(3)、能读懂有关濒危动物的短文。
(4)、通过学习导致鲨鱼濒临灭绝的文章,认识到动物濒临灭绝的现象,激发学生保护动物并爱护大自然的意识。
2、教学重点:
学生能读懂关于拯救鲨鱼的短文。
3、教学难点:
学生能通过阅读完成概括段落大意和回答问题的任务。
4、 教学过程:
Step 1 Greeting
Greet the students.
Step 2 Warming-up
Show a picture about sharks and have a talk .
(1). What is it
(2). Where does it live?
(学习新词shark,fin,复习ocean)
Show picture 2 about “finning ”and ask questions.

Step 3 Leading-in .
Thinking about what we can do to help save the sharks and then write down the title save the sharks .
Step 4 Presentation .
Task1. Listen to the tape, pay attention to the first and the last sentences of each paragraph, and then match the main ideas.
Paragragh 1 Sharks are endangered.
Paragragh 2 Call on people to against eating shark fin soup.
Paragragh 3 Talk about shark fin soup.
Task2. Read the first paragraph and answer the following questions.
① What is the famous and expensive dish in southern China?

Task3.Read the second paragraph and answer the following questions.
① What do people do when they catch sharks
② What will happen if their numbers drop too low

② What have the two groups done to help save the sharks
Task5.Read the passage together and complete the fact sheet in 3a.
