Technology is developing so fast that many things commonly used in the past have faded out of sight today. Let’s compare three of the things used in the past with those we use today.
The first televisions could only show black and white pictures, but nowadays we have colour televisions which show us clear and colourful scenes.
In the past, when people wanted to communicate with others, they wrote letters and waited for weeks for responses. Now the Internet enables us to email people instantly, even when they are thousands of miles away.
People used to carry big bags of film rolls with them when travelling, but now they put digital cameras or mobile phones in their pockets, and can take almost as many pictures as they want to.

I think the invention of touch screen technology is the most important for us. People talk about smartphones and other devices, but it’s the touch screen technology that makes all of these new things so easy to use.

Our clothes will be smart. They will be able to adjust the heat output automatically to make us feel more comfortable. We’ll also be able to change the colour anytime we want.
When we walk into a restaurant, we will get the menu from a robot waiter, and our food will be produced by a 3D printer. There will be no more “real” waiters and cooks.
We may travel in space, like astronauts! We may even live on another planet one day.
