如何描述人物
1. 描述人物外貌的问句
询问人物外貌时，我们常用“What + do / does + 主语 ＋ look like ”这一句型。其中，助动词用 do 还是 does 取决于主语人称和数的变化：当主语是第三人称单数或单数名词时，用 does；当主语是其他人称或复数名词时，用 do。如：
What does your sister look like 你姐姐长什么样？
What do her parents look like 她父母长什么样？

我们可以用“What +be +主语＋like ”这一句型来询问某人的品质、个性等。如：
—What’s her mother like 她妈妈性格怎么样？
—She is quite nice. 她相当和善。

2. 描述人物形象的表达方式
（1） 描述身高、体重等整体特征时用 be 动词。如：
Our P.E. teacher is of medium height. 我们体育老师中等身高。
She is of medium build. 她中等身材。
I am a little heavy. 我有点儿胖。

（2）发型、面部特征方面用 have。如：
Jack has curly hair. 杰克留着卷发。

在问句中提供两个或两个以上可选答案的问句叫做选择疑问句。选择疑问句的两种或两种以上的情况用 or 连接，回答时不能用 yes 或 no。在口语中，选择疑问句的语调应是第一个选择项读升调，第二个选择项读降调。选择疑问句可以分为一般选择疑问句和特殊选择疑问句两种。

【注意】
or 之后如果是单数可数名词，必须要加上冠词。
选择疑问句中 or 所连接的可以是不同的内容，如两个名词，两个动词，两个介词短语等。但 or 所连接的内容一定是并列的，如果 or 的前面是名词，其后也应该是名词，如果是动词，其后也必须是动词，不能前面是名词，后面却接一个动词。

1) meet 相当于汉语中“集合；见面；碰头；聚集”。如：

2) right 表示“对吗; 是吧”，用来表示对此前陈述内容进行确认和核实。全句为 Is that right 口语中常用不完整的句子表达意见或想法。

a little 意为“有点儿”，用来修饰形容词。如：

glass 作“玻璃”讲时，是不可数名词；作“玻璃杯”讲时为可数名词；而 glasses 则是“眼镜”之意。如：

There’s no water in your glass. 你的杯子里没有水了。

在受到否定概念限定的部分中一般不用 and, 而用 or。如：I don’t have any brothers or sisters. 我没有兄弟和姐妹。在以上这种用法中，or 相当于 and not。试比较：
Sophie never cleans or even offers to wash the dishes.
= Sophie never cleans and does not even offer to wash the dishes.
苏菲从不打扫房间，甚至从不主动洗碗。
