故选A项。

A Possible Version
Good morning, everyone,
Nowadays, with the growth of the Internet, many teenagers get addicted to online games. They usually spend long hours in front of computers in their spare time. The long-term use of computers causes many students to suffer loss of memory, whose interest in studying also drops greatly.
How can we get teenagers back to a normal life I think it a good idea to help them form the habit of reading. On the one hand, reading can broaden teenagers’ horizons. On the other hand, reading can deepen their understanding of the events happening at home and abroad. Besides, they will get good grades in their exams.
Let’s pick up a book and read!Thank you.

A possible version:
At last he came up to a cave at the edge of the bush. It seemed that they could have a rest there. But Tom hesitated, for fear of something dangerous in it. Looking around, he saw black smoke and blazing fire from the distance looming like monsters, which drove him to make a quick decision-carry his sister in. Dark and humid the place scared the little girl to cry. Tom settled his sister on a rock and armed her, tapping her on the back gently. Gradually she calmed down, peeping at the surroundings curiously. Later she even started to sing a nursery rhyme to encourage her brother.
Meanwhile, Mr. Carr got the news from his wife that the children were lost. So worried were the couple that they immediately set off in search of the children. Yelling and praying, they followed the footprints and swept a road through the bushes. Suddenly they heard the familiar sweet voice. It was Dot! Overjoyed with tears, they rushed towards their kids. Tom briefed his story, and was praised repeatedly. Over the distant horizon. the black smoke was fading away. With the brave boy on Mr. Carr's shoulders and the little girl in mom's arms, the four headed to their home joyfully.平冈高级中学校2021-2022学年高二下学期期中考试

A college student has been going above and beyond the call of duty to protect people who are deaf or hard of hearing from risking exposure to COVID-19. Since the world has been struggling to cope with N95 face mask shortages, 21 -year-old Ashley Lawrence has been troubled by how the face masks might prevent people with hearing disabilities from communicating.
Because American Sign Language ( ASL) speakers rely heavily on lip-reading for grammar, face masks could obscure (隐藏) up to half of a person's message. Lawrence, who studies education for the deaf and hard of hearing at Eastern Kentucky University , has been conducting her schooling at home due to the novel coronavirus outbreaks - so she resolved to use her free time to make face masks for sign language speakers.
With the help of her mother, Lawrence began sewing face masks with plastic windows over the wearer's mouth so that ASL speakers could still use lip-reading for communication. Over the course of the last few weeks,Lawrence has been shipping the masks to dozens of hospitals and deaf individuals for free. She launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for shipping, handling, and materials, but she stopped the crowdfunding (众筹) page after she reached her goal of $ 3,300 in just two days.
Although Lawrence had originally recruited a team of volunteers to make the masks for deaf people in her home community of Woodford County, Kentucky, the determined college student is now working to launch an official Facebook page and website for her newly-built DHH Mask Project as a means of meeting demand for the masks. Furthermore, Lawrence plans on posting a YouTube DIY instructional video for making the masks by the end of this week. Until then, people can request a set of free masks from Lawrence, by emailing her at dhhmaskproject@.
24.Who were the special face masks made for
A.Common people. B.Students studying at school.
C.People with hearing disabilities. D.People infected with COVID-19.
25.What may happen when people with hearing disabilities use common face masks

26.Why did Lawrence launch a GoFundMe camipaign
A.To collect enough money for her plan. B.To meet people's demand for the masks.
C.To ask for ideas about the special masks. D.To help people learn more about the masks.
27.What can we infer about Lawrence from the text
A.She is hearing disabled. B.She is determined and caring.
C.She made the masks by herself. D.She sold all the masks on the Internet.

Japanese automaker Toyota says it will team up with the country’s space agency to develop a vehicle called the Lunar Cruiser to explore the moon. The name comes from a popular Toyota vehicle called the Land Cruiser. The company said it plans to launch the vehicle in the late 2020s. After that, Toyota said the vehicle could assist people living on the moon by 2040 and could possibly be sent to Mars as well.
Takao Sato heads the company’s Lunar Cruiser project. He told The Associated Press the vehicle is based on the idea that people eat, work, sleep and communicate with others safely in cars. He hopes the Lunar Cruiser can serve the same purpose in space. “We see space as an area for our once-in-a-century transformation, ” Sato said, “By going to space, we may be able to develop telecommunications and other technology that will prove valuable to human life. ”
Another company, Gitai Japan Inc., is partnering with Toyota to develop a robotic arm for the Lunar Cruiser. It will be designed to perform jobs such as carrying out inspections and maintaining the vehicle. The company said the arm will be built to work with different tools. These tools could be used to study the moon’s surface more closely.
Interest in space has been growing in Japan in recent years. Japanese space exploration company iSpace announced last April that it would transport an explorer belonging to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the moon in 2022. Japan’s iSpace will provide the lander to carry the UAE’s rover(探测器).
The company plans to launch the lander on a Falcon 9 rocket built by American company SpaceX. Japanese citizens followed the trip to space last year of billionaire Yusaku Maezawa. He spent 12 days aboard the International Space Station. Maezawa also plans in the future to orbit around the moon on a SpaceX’s Starship spacecraft.
Toyota engineer Shinichiro Noda said he thinks the lunar project can extend the company’s tradition of serving customers to a place beyond Earth. He said Toyota currently has vehicles almost everywhere. “But this is about taking our cars to somewhere we have never been, ” Noda said.
28.What’s the ultimate purpose of the Lunar Cruiser project

Gone are the days when a mother’s place was in the home: in Britain women with children are now as likely to be in paid work as their unburdened sisters. Many put their little darlings in day care long before they start school. Mindful that a poor start can spoil a person’s chances of success later in life, the state has intervened ever more closely in how babies and toddlers are looked after. Inspectors call not only at nurseries but also at homes where youngsters are minded; three-year-olds follow the national curriculum. Child care has increasingly become a profession.
For years after the government first began in 2001 to twist the arms of anyone who looked after an unrelated child to register with the schools, the numbers so doing fell. Kind but clueless neighbours stopped looking after little ones, who were instead herded into formal nurseries or handed over to one of the ever-fewer registered child-minders. The decline in the number of people taking in children now appears to have halted. According to data released by the Office for Standards in Education on October 27th, the number of registered child-minders reached its lowest point in September 2010 and has since recovered slightly.
The new lot are certainly better qualified. In 2010 fully 82% of nursery workers held diplomas notionally equivalent to A-levels, the university-entrance exams taken mostly by 18-year-olds, up from 56% seven years earlier, says Anand Shukla of the Daycare Trust, a charity. Nurseries staffed by university graduates tend to be rated highest by inspectors, increasing their appeal to the pickiest parents. As a result, more graduates are being recruited.
But professionalization has also pushed up the price of child care, defying even the economic depression. A survey by the Daycare Trust finds that a full-time nursery place in England for a child aged under two, who must be intensively supervised, costs 194 ($310) per week, on average. Prices in London and the south-east are far higher. Parents in Britain spend more on child care than anywhere else in the world, according to the OECD, a think-tank. Some 68% of a typical second earner's net income is spent on freeing her to work, compared with an OECD average of 52%.
The price of child care is not only eye-watering, but has also become a barrier to work. Soon after it took power the coalition government pledged to ensure that people are better off in work than on benefits, but a recent survey by Save the Children, a charity, found that the high cost of day care prevented a quarter of low-paid workers from returning to their jobs once they had started a family. The government pays for free part-time nursery places for three-and four-year-olds, and contributes towards day-care costs for younger children from poor areas. Alas, extending such an aid during stressful economic times would appear to be anything but child’s play.

One very hot morning, Mrs. Carr was occupied in doing housework in the kitchen, with her two kids Tom Carr and his sister Dot playing in the yard. Tom was nine years old, but Dot was only three, and Tom took very great care of his little sister.
Suddenly a man rushed hurriedly into the yard. It was Mr. May, who lived at the next station, which is a big farm in Australia. “Fire!” he cried, “Fire! One of the worst fires I ever saw in my e along, Carr, and bring all your hands,” Mr. Carr called his men out, and away they all rode. “Stay behind, sweeties!” warned Mrs. Carr from the window of the kitchen, continuing with her work
“Look there, Dot,” said Tom, “the brown calf (小牛) has got out of the yard!” In the hurry of the men riding off to fight the fire, the gate had not been closed again and the brown calf was running away. Tom ran at once to bring the calf back. and Dot ran after him, About half a mile from the farm yard the open land came to an end, and the bush began. The calf ran among the trees, and the children followed.
The trees were not thick at first, and it was very easy to follow the brown calf through the bushes. But soon the calf ran into a deep valley, where Tom couldn't follow it. “Oh, what a pity. Dot,” he said. “The calf is lost now; it will get away into the bush. But give me your hand. We must go home!”
Tom began to feel very afraid. If the fire came through the bush and caught them, he and his little sister could be burned to death. He tried to get on faster, but he could not find the way out of the bush. Tom took his little sister on his back, and carried her for a long way, tired and thirsty.
