Do you think there are aliens The following are different views.
I’m Ruby. I do not believe in aliens. I understand your reason that the universe is quite large. And I understand that there should be other intelligent lives in the universe. But we are quite intelligent and have explored many parts of the universe. If aliens were there, don’t you think we would have found them by now
I’m Philip. Since our planet is so lucky that there are lives, I believe there are lives on other planets. There are many possibilities that there is another planet like ours that can sustain (维持) lives. I don’t think aliens live among us, but I believe there are lives somewhere in our universe, and they may be smart or just animals.
I’m Rock. It is hard to say whether there are aliens or not. It depends on how far we are willing to look into the future. I’m not talking about the time of our lives, but the very distant (遥远的) future (our 10th or 20th generation grandchildren might experience space exploration together).

Would you like to be able to see things in the dark One day this might be possible. Scientists have done tests on some mice and have given them the ability to see near-infrared light(近红外线). This is a kind of light wave that mice (and humans) cannot normally see.
Research teams from the University of Science and Technology of China and the University of Massachusetts
Medical School changed the vision of the test mice. The scientists put special nanoparticles (纳米粒) into the test mice’s eyes. They allowed the mice to see better in the dark. The effect lasted for around 10 weeks. The scientists said the vision of the mice was not hurt and the eyes did not experience any side effects.
People now can see the article about the research in the magazine Cell. The researchers said that they hoped the same tests could be done with humans. Researcher Dr Tian Xue explained what he hoped for the future. He said, “Human beings have been trying to develop new technology to make it possible for us to have abilities that are beyond our natural abilities.” He said future tests could let humans see things in the dark that they
cannot see now. Dr Tian added, “Another cool thing about this technology is that people wouldn’t need to wear heavy things, such as night-vision glasses.” He also said, “The army will probably be interested in this work.”
( )21. What can we know from the first paragraph
A. People can’t see things in the dark in the future.

A
( )24. What can we infer from the last sentence

I believe aliens really exist. They live on other planets. They usually have a big head, a pair of big eyes and a short figure. They look weak, but actually they have strong power. Their lives are quite different from ours. We humans must drink water and need air to live but they needn’t. They can live without drinking for a long time. They even don’t need to sleep, so they have more time to study and play. We take bikes, cars, trains or planes to other places. Aliens take UFOs to get where they want to go.
