Numerous maritime spaces are being spoilt by the ill-behaved tourists. In a gesture to heighten people’s consciousness of ocean conservation,World Ocean Day, falling on June 8th,is set.
Ocean conservation plays an indispensable role in the environmental protection. Not only does ocean offer us sufficient clean energy which contributes to economic prosperity, but also it maintains the balance of nature. Therefore, it is imperative for us to protect ocean. In the beginning, what we can do is to attach importance to ocean conservation . On top of this, we can also hand out leaflets to appeal more people to protect the ocean. The more people are involved, the better the ocean environment is.
All in all, it is high time that we devoted ourselves to protecting ocean. To protect ocean is to protect ourselves.

Learning English Beyond the Classroom
The school newspaper is now conducting a research on how students learn English beyond the classroom. Here are the results.
As can be seen from the histogram, 65 percent of students learn English through listening to songs while 50 percent of them, watching films. What really surprised us, those who read English books and browse websites only occupy 18 percent and 12 percent, respectively.The chart informs us that most students acquire English in such relaxing or entertaining ways as listening to music and watching films. Serious ways like reading books or browsing web pages seem to lose their appeal.
Frankly speaking, students ought to spend more time in intensive reading as either in-depth or fragmented reading can expose them to a variety of language phenomena, thus going a long way to building up a solid vocabulary bank and a well-rounded grammar structure.
