六、具体步骤:
Step 1 Greeting
T: These days I always feel cold. I think I should take more exercise and play sports often. Do you like sports What sports do you like to play
Step 2 New words
T: Of all the sports, which is the most popular in China and in the world
S:Basketball.
T: Why
S: Because it is an exciting and active sport.
The teacher presents new words by showing a picture of James Naismith: create, popularity, rise, worldwide
James Naismith created basketball.
Since James Naismith created basketball, it has been more and more popular. Now the popularity(普及) has risen(上升) the worldwide(世界性的).
Then the teacher shows some pictures about equipments and teach new words: court, wooden, indoors, backboard, guide, metal, hoop, basket, shoot
T: Where do we play basketball
When we play basketball, we need many equipments. What equipments do we need What are they used for
Ask Ss to match the equipments and their uses.
Next the teacher asks Ss who their favourite basketball player is and how basketball is played, and teach new words:
T: Who is your favorite basketball player
In which country did Yao Ming play basketball Which team did he play basketball for
Yao Ming played for Houston Rockets, NBA in America.
NBA =National Basketball Association
T: Let’s talk about how to play basketball.
At first the players are divided(分成) into _____ teams. The aim(目标)of the game: get the ball into ___________.
First catch / get the ball, then throw the ball to each other, next move the ball towards one end of the court, finally shoot from below the basket
Step 3: Reading
1. Prediction:
Show the title and ask the students to predict what the article is about.
