Unit2 Lesson12 优质课教案
I．Analysize of this unit.
This unit deals with enviro mental themes and discuss how plants, farming and gardening affect our lives. Students will learn more much about plants, gardening and
agriculture. They will consider why these are important to us. Besides, the grammar
of this unit is word building, students will learn to identify words that can be both nouns and verb, meanwhile, they have to know how to use them correctly, students will grow the vocabularies by this way.
II． Analysize of students.
Students in this area is special, they have to learn 3 languages at the same time, with different language backgrounds,there is some difficulties for us to understand each other, especially some terms, and they started learn English from grade 7, so they still haven’t formed better ways to learn English.There are many problems exist in students’ learning. Many students even aren’t willing to read follow teachers. But some students are equipped with basic English knowledge, they can’t use English flexibility. So, teacher need use proper ways to guide students.
III.Teaching aims
1. Language knowledge
1)key words：yard, agriculture, seed, pot, stem, bud, carefully.
2)key phrases: at the top....., a flower bud, look after
2.Speaking ability
To encourage students to speak English and use the knowledge of this lesson to express how a plant grows.
Iv.Teaching key &difficult points
1)key points: students can master the key phrases and use them correctly.
2)difficult points:students can describe things according to the given information properly.
V.Teaching aids
Multimedia, blackboard,seeds
VI.Teaching procedures:
Step1: Review
The teacher will draw a blackboard drawing of a plant on the blackboard, then invite some students to write down every parts of the plants in English.
Step2:Lead in A short video about plants grow will be presented on.
T: You need to think what is this video about
(After watching,teacher will ask” what is it about ”)
S: About plant!
T:Can you be more specific
S: About plants’growth.
T:Great! Now can you guess what we will learn today We will learn about Lesson 12 to learn how to describe a plant’s growing process.
Step3:Presentation
1.Words
1) The teacher will use a real plant as well as pictures to guide students to learn the new words,such as, stem, leaves...
2)Then teacher will teach students the pronunciation of the new words,next ask students to practise by themselves.
3)Invite some students to read.
4)Read as a class.
2.Text
T: First let’s listen to the text, meanwhile you have to think about it” what happened to Danny’s plants ”
We will listen it for twice. Then some students will be invited to share the answers.
T: Now Let’s look at “Let’s Do IT”part to finish it in groups. Then check the answers.
Step4:Practice
Students read the text together.
Divide students into girls group and boys group to read the text.
Step5:Consolidation
1) Invite some students to choose any level they want to practise the language points.
2) Some pictures will be given, and students should finish the sentences according to the given information to describe how a plant grows. Later，some students will be invited to the front to describe in their own words.
Step 6:Summary
T: what we have learned in today’s Lesson
S: how a plant grows

Step7: Homework
To write a passage to describe a kind of plants’ growing process.

VIII.Teaching reflection
This class was designed for students to speak and read. But in fact , I forgot to let students to practise reading after listening. What’s more, I should have more students to practising speaking, but I only invited one students to stand on the stage, I should give more students more chances to speak. The exercise in class is not enough as well.
I spent to much time on words learning which caused I don’t have enough time to practise. So, I should analysis students more correctly before class and prepare for lesson more carefully.
