I often take a four-hour trip to visit my children. Every time I take this trip I never know what will happen.Last week when I was on the train and over an hour into the train ride, there was a man sitting by himself in the back of the train carrying on a mobile phone conversation — in another language. It was loud and disturbed most of the people on the train. I think it was annoying.Fortunately I sat next to a wonderful old lady who was taking a two-day trip by train. She said her two daughters were distraught at the thought of her driving for three days to reach her home, although she had no trouble driving. The train ride was the only choice for her. She loved to look out of the window and watch the world go by on the train. She was fun to talk to and asked me when my children started being parents. That is a very good question. Both of us are old and have children. She asked that same question from time to time. There are always many people on the train from all walks of life, different countries, and many languages. Riding the train is a great way to increase your knowledge and take in all kinds of cultures. If you get hungry, you can buy food in the food car at any time. It doesn't stop there, though—some sleep positions are healthier than others. So which sleep position is the healthiest Sleeping on your back is the healthiest sleep position, Health benefits include avoiding back and neck pain. Because the head is raised above the stomach when you sleep on your back, this position is best for people who suffer from nighttime acid reflux (胃酸逆流) as well. Around 80% of heartburn sufferers have problems during the night, so sleeping on their back could help a lot of people to enjoy a good night's sleep. If the sleep position alone is not enough to alleviate the condition, try raising the head of the bed by up to 4 inches by placing blocks under it.When you sleep on your back, your face is in a natural position. This means less wrinkles (皱纹).If you really can't face sleeping on your back, another healthy sleep position is the side sleep. It's almost as good as the back position, and it's better for people who snore (打鼾) and their partners. How pleased and proud Mother would be when they brought her breakfast in bed. They planned to make French toast and chicken porridge. They had watched their mother in the kitchen. There was nothing to it. Jenna and Jeff knew exactly what to do.The big day came at last. The alarm rang at 6 am. The pair went down the stairs quietly to the kitchen. They decided to boil the porridge first. They put some rice into a pot of water and left it to boil while they made the French toast. Jeff broke two eggs into a plate and added in some milk. Jenna found the bread and put two slices into the egg mixture. Next, Jeff turned on the second stove burner to heat up the frying pan. Everything was going smoothly until Jeff started frying the bread. The pan was too hot and the bread turned black within seconds. Jenna threw the burnt piece into the sink and put in the other slice of bread. This time, she turned down the fire so it cooked nicely. Then Jeff noticed steam shooting out of the pot and the lid starting to shake. The next minute, the porridge boiled over and put out the fire. Jenna panicked. Thankfully, Jeff stayed calm and turned off the gas quickly. But the stove was a mess now. Jenna told Jeff to clean it up so they could continue to cook the rest of the porridge. But Jeff's hand touched the hot burner and he gave a cry of pain. Jenna made him put his hand in cold water. Then she caught the smell of burning. Oh dear! The piece of bread in the pan had turned black as well.As the twins looked around them in disappointment, their father appeared.————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————The twins carried the breakfast upstairs and woke their mother up.————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————莆田砺志学校2021~2022学年下学期期中检测高二 年级 英语 学科参考答案第一部分 听力1-5 ABACC 6-10 CABCB 11-15 CBABC 16-20 BBCAC第二部分 阅读21-23 BAD 24-27BCAD 28-31CBAD 32-35: D B A D36-40. It's my privilege to introduce Chinese 24 solar terms to you.The traditional Chinese lunar calendar divides the year into 24 solar cycles, instructing the farmers to carry out certain agriculture activities during certain periods of the year. The first of them is Beginning of Spring, which lifts the curtain of spring. After spring sets in, everything comes back to life and is full of vigour. Many of the solar terms have become associated with Chinese customs over the centuries. Beginning of spring is no exception. In many parts of China, people observe the custom of “biting the spring” by eating spring pancakes or spring rolls. Legend has it that the egg can be set upright on the first day of Beginning of Spring. It is believed that whoever can make the egg stand on that day will have good luck in the year to come.第二节 读后续写参考范文:续写下水文1:As the twins looked around them in disappointment, their father appeared. They yelled “Happy Mother’s Day, darling Mummy! A big surprise for you!” When she saw the breakfast, her eyes widened up and twinkled with excitement. In the evening, everyone is assigned a different task to get dinner ready. Yesterday, I was in charge of preparing the hotdogs, but I accidentally dropped them in the fire. The other kids are still laughing at me because of that.
