How Crazy English is!
①合成法:一些由其他单词组合而成的单词的含义与其组成成分有关,而其他组合词的意义与其组成成分无关。
(seasick; homesick; pineapple)
②派生法:通过增添后缀,导致一些词改变了词性,但依旧保持了词义,而另一些词不仅改变了词性,且完全改变了词义。
(hard-hardly; soft-softly)
③转化法:一个单词或一个表达也可以有多重含义。

(1) behave v. 表现;(举止或行为)守规矩
behave oneself 守规矩,表现得体
behave well/badly to/towards sb. 对待某人好/差
(2) well/badly-behaved adj. 表现好的/差的

opposite adj. 相反的,相对的 n. 对立面/物 prep. 在...对面 adv. 在对面
(1) be opposite to在...对面,与...相反
just the opposite恰恰相反
neither...nor...既不...也不....
(1)否定词neither置于句首,句子要用部分倒装,即把助动词、情态动词或be动词提到主语之前。
(2)neither...nor...当用于连接主语时,遵循就近原则。
(3)当never, hardly, nor, not until, not only等置于句首,句子也需部分倒装。
burn up(被)烧毁,烧尽;使大怒;消耗(体内的能量)
burn down(被)烧毁;(火势)减弱
burn out (火)熄灭;燃尽;耗尽体力,累垮
wind up 把(窗户等)摇上去,给(机械)上发条,使(活动,会议等)结束
(1) wind down 把(窗户等)摇下来
(2) wind up doing sth. = end up doing sth. 结果/最终/到头来是....,以...收场/结尾
(3) wind one’s way 蜿蜒前行,曲折延伸
