教学目标:
1.知识目标:掌握描述人物外貌特征的词汇和句型。
2.能力目标:能够运用有关人物外貌特征的词汇和句型较准确地描述人物的外貌特征。
3.文化意识:中外种族特征不同,对外表描述重点不尽相同;以及描述人的外貌词汇使用分寸的把握。
教学内容:
1.话题:appearance
2.词汇:big, small, blonde, black, round, long
3.句型:What does he look like —He wears glasses. He has blonde hair.
教学重点:描述人物外貌特征的词汇和句型
教学手段:多媒体、简笔画
教学过程:
Step 1 Lead-in
Draw a circle on the blackboard, let students guess what it is. Then go on drawing, teach the target words and expressions.
Step 2 Show some students photos, theirs faces are covered by smiling faces, named them as “pop models”, ask students some questions, such as: Who are they What do they look like
What do they do Where do they study
Then show their faces, let students talk about their appearances.
Step 3 Play a game
Describe one of the students, tell the rules: If you are him or her, keep on standing, if you are not, please sit down.
Step 4 Show a picture of myself, invite students to describe me by using the sentence they learned before. Then ask them to type the sentence on the computer.
Step 5 Drawing
Choose two students to draw a picture on the blackboard according to the clues. Prepare for the following listening practice.
Step 6 Listening (1c)
Let’s meet two talented people. Listen and fill in the chart about Johnny Dean’s and Tina Brown’s jobs.
Step 7 Group work
Describe one of your classmates with your partner. Then do a report.
Homework
Write a short composition, describe one of your teachers or friends.
【课后反思】
课堂导入是教学艺术的第一个闪光点。本节课的导入,没受教材内容的束缚,而是以教师亲自画的简笔画,引出新单词round, blonde, glasses. 一开始上课便将学生课前分散的注意力即刻转移到课堂上,并使其处于积极状态。因授课班级不是本班学生,为了迅速拉近与学生的距离, 课前为该班几名长相较有特色的学生拍照,邀请他们成为老师的明星模特, 引导学生对身边熟悉的朋友进行描述, 自然过渡到本课新知识的学习。导入直接、自然,效果良好。在精心设计的几项游戏中,教师为学生创设情景,既激发并强化了学生的学习动机,又将所学的知识扩展,为学有余力的学生提供了发展空间,努力提高学生的听说能力, 学生情绪高涨、积极参与、主动思维、大胆实践,促进了语言实际运用能力的提高。
不足: 输入新知识时语言操练的形式不丰富,有待进一步研究。
