Li Lianyina, a 16-year-old girl from Henan, might not look like a typical motocross racer. But she is
already a veteran(老运动员) of the sport, going on her first ride when she was eight. While she was
stuck in front of a piano, her father would take her 3-year-old brother out to ride a motorcycle at a course

“ It can be very dull doing piano practice, and I was so envious(羡慕的) that my brother could have

But racing comes with risks, of course. The first time she tried to ride over a jump, she failed. Her
motorcycle flew into the air before hitting the ground. Li fell off the bike, hitting her head.
However, Li insisted that she wanted to continue riding. She took part in her first race when she was

The performance she is proudest of came in Dushan county, Guizhou province, in 2017. A full day
of rain made the track very muddy and dangerous.
She was under heavy pressure facing female racers who were all older than her, but she managed to
