1、 教学目标
1.知识目标
学习和掌握阅读中所涉及的新单词和短语，尤其是一些习惯用语的表达方式及固定搭配。
2.能力目标
进一步提升学生的自我阅读理解能力，对学生进行略读、跳读、细读等阅读方法和书面表达能力的训练。
3.情感目标
培养学生合作学习和克服困难的能力以及遇到挫折学会和他人交流的能力，学会团结合作的团队精神，树立勇于面对挫折的积极态度。
2、 重难点
1. 训练学生快速阅读语言，总结大意的能力。
2. 训练学生利用文中关键词语理解文中语句的能力。
3. 训练学生利用所学知识表达自己想法的语言表达能力。
3、 教学策略
创设情境，引导探索，小组合作等
4、 教学过程
Step1: Warming up
Ask the students if they like soccer to lead in the topic. Let them watch an exciting part of a soccer game to warm up the class.
To introduce the sports culture in western countries. Help the students understand Peter’s feeling in the reading. Peter,who is on the school soccer team lost his game . Today we will read his story.
Step 2:Reading
1. Scaning
Scan the story and clear the structure of the story.
Scene1: on the way home
Scene2: at home
Scene3: on the soccer practice field
2. careful reading
1) Read paragraph1 and answer the questions
1.What did Peter feel like as he walked home alone
2. Why did Peter feel angry and worried
Then let the students draw Peter’s feeling line
2)Read Paragraph 2 and find out father’s advices
Don’t ______________yourself.
Good team should ____________.
Winning or losing is only____________.
The other half is learning how to________________ your teammates and__________________ .
Then let the students answer the question : Do you agree with Peter’s father Why or why not
Let the student discuss: Have you learned something from Peter What will you do if you have problems
At last let the students to role-play the conversation between father and Peter
2) Read Paragraph3 and find the answers to the questions
1.What did Peter do and what happened to him and his teammates
2.Why did Peter think that he was on a winning team even though they lost the last game
Help the students clear the meaning of the winning team
Step3:writing
Say :Now we are in Grade 4, it ‘s a big year for us.
We are going to graduate from the junior high school.
We have many exams , sometimes we do well and sometimes we fail .
We have too much pressure.
Share your feelings and the ways to solve the problems.
Help the students find the right ways to solve problems and encourage the students to make beteer progress
1. Communicating with parents ,teachers and classmates can make you feel better.
2. We should support each other when we are in trouble.
3. And every time ,we should learn from mistakes,Not just complain ,it’s no use for us.
4. Pull together and believe in ourselves because we are on a winning class. We can do better next time.
