Self-Assessment
Possible version
However, when it was time to pay, the old woman realized that she left her bank card at home, and she didn’t have enough money, only a ten-dollar bill and some coins in wallet. Anxious and worried, she started to apologize to the checkout assistant, intending to put all these things back. It was then that Tom stepped forward and said “Excuse me, madam, do you need help ”A blush of red creeping onto the old woman’s face, hardly could she utter a single word. Eyes fixed on hers, Tom grinned with a knowing smile, saying you can use my card to pay for the items. Surprised by Tom’s kindness, embarrassed though, the old women took the card carefully and handed over to the checkout assistant. In a flash, the crowds in the supermarket surged towards the exit, leaving Tom and the old woman scattered around. Pushing through the crowds, the old woman stumbled forward Tom and asked for his telephone number to get in touch and pay him back.
Possible version
“No. I’ve been there too and someone helps me out, just not letting the chain of kindness end with you.” Tom insisted, shaking his head. A stream of warmth coursing through the old woman’s body, her eyes brimmed with tears. The incident lingering in the old woman’s mind constantly on her way home, she unconsciously caught a glimpse of the fabulous glow of sunset, the color of a warm heart, and brightened.
