The State of Colorado has four of the best parks out of the 58 national parks in the United States. The parks have some of the best scenery of all the national parks.
Black Canyon (峡谷) of the Gunnison National Park
This park offers the most breathtaking views from up in the mountains into the canyons below. While exploring the canyons, you will find that the walls drop nearly straight down into the narrow valleys of the snake-like rivers below. Visitors are offered more than 100 camping sites, and a lot of bird species and many animals are native to the area.
Rocky Mountain National Park
It is the only national park in the north central region in the State of Colorado. Elevations in this park are anywhere from 8, 000 feet to 14, 259 feet at the top of Longs Peak. While travelling throughout this park you will notice there are two very different climates because of the difference the upper peaks of the Rocky Mountains make. You can enjoy 359 miles of hiking trails, a lot of places for camping, horse-back riding and beautiful scenery.
Mesa Verde National Park
This is probably the most interesting national park, offering a fascinating trip back in time to 600AD up to 1300 AD. This park was declared a protected national park in 1906 because of the cliff dwellings (居住) that were found throughout the area, which were once home to American Indians. Many of these dwellings can be walked through, while you imagine what each room may have been used for so many years ago.
Great Sand Dunes (沙丘) National Park
The Great Sand Dunes National Park lies in South-Central Colorado, about 127 miles from Pueblo. This park has the tallest sand dunes in all of North America and has trails for hiking. The natural sandy beaches around the small rivers and lakes are good for swimmers.

As a senior school graduate, during COVID-19 outbreak, I’ve had many concerns, the greatest one of which was being unable to help my community, except for wearing my mask, following the health officials’ guidelines, and assisting seniors to get their groceries.
Then it struck me. Solving COVID-19 relied only on individual steps and the goodwill of human consciousness. But the next challenge we have to deal with ahead is climate change, known as the silent pandemic without a vaccine (疫苗) . So, all I could think of was: Why don’t we do the same, and deal with it through our everyday activities
I’ve created an App, EnRoute, to help reduce carbon emissions (排放) from shopping and transport activities. Even though I’ve never coded before, my will was greater than any excuse I could think of. The first version was just a one-screen App. Through the quarantines (隔离), I’ve had only 70 people to test the concept with and created little impact. Plus, leading a social organization seemed like a small boat in a rough sea to me. But instead of giving up, I chose to fill the gap.
And the coolest thing is that the more I was learning, the more people got interested in the idea. Through every leadership program, I built a stronger EnRoute Community where each person was equally passionate and brave to make a change. Their enthusiasm was my greatest fuel. At least I travelled across the world without a single carbon emission.
Fast forward to today, through EnRoute, over 4, 000 people reduced more than 150, 000 kg carbon emissions. The App turned into an international movement. And I even had the pleasure to be the first-ever Macedonian Global Teen Leader Princess Diana Award Winner.
It turns out that except for being a good time to reflect and relax, bridge years can be a powerful tool to change the world as well!
24. How did the author feel during COVID-19
A. Helpless. B. Alarmed. C. Worried. D. Ignorant.
25. What inspired the author to create the App, EnRoute
A. Individual devotion to pandemic prevention.
B. The author’s involvement in community service.
C. The influence of human activities on global warming.
D. The difference between carbon emissions and COVID-19.
26. What is the benefit of the App
A. It unites many countries.
B. It gets many people to change.
C. It inspires the author to enjoy himself.
D. It proves the author’s ability to change others.
27. Which of the following can best describe the author
A. Patient and caring. B. Capable and outgoing.
C. Creative and generous. D. Determined and responsible.

Shared e-scooters (电动滑板车) are becoming common across Australia. While they may offer a low-carbon option for tourism, do they benefit tourist cities Our research team at Griffith University’s Cities Research Institute partnered with Neuron Mobility to conduct a survey of Townsville tourists between 2020 and 2021.
We analyzed the visiting e-scooter users’ travel and spending behaviors. Though their e-scooter hire costs were identical (一样的) ,the visitors who rode the e-scooters the most spent most money in Townsville.
The active e-scooter users completed average 11 e-scooter trips, covering nearly 26 kilometers each while in Townsville. Many of these trips would have been completed by walking if e-scooters were unavailable. But they would have taken longer to complete each trip on foot, thus limiting the total number of destinations visited. Some other trips wouldn’t have occurred at all. One user commented, “We enjoyed being able to travel to areas that we would not normally have been to or were too far to walk in a reasonable amount of time.”
Many of these users said they did not need to use a car thanks to the e-scooters. This meant they were able to travel along the streets in Townsville without being trapped in the already busy roadways.
Across all the e-scooter users surveyed, most had never ridden an e-scooter before, but 91percent reported they could ride it easily. Confirming the positive effect of e-scooters on both city image and visitor experience, 93 percent said they enjoyed travelling within Townsville. Besides, of all the visitors, active users spent more money on restaurants and cafes than the conditions without using e-scooters. Light users also spent a greater amount of money, mainly on shopping and services.
Henry, an-scooter user said, “The weekly pass was extremely cost-effective. I highly recommend it and I will use e-scooters again. “In fact, tourist cities like Townsville that adopt e-scooter sharing are promoting their image and tourism economy.
28. What will happen to the place where e-scooters are available
A. Visitors can visit more attractions.
B. No trips will be finished on foot.
C. Visitors will be charged less money.
D. It will take visitors longer to get around.
29. What can be known about travelling in Townsville by car
A. Cars will make tourists miss some views.
B. Visitors will be easily stuck in traffic jams.
C. Cars will take visitors to many places of interest.
D. Visitors will feel relaxed and comfortable to travel.
30. Why does the author mention the expenses of the visitors
A. To confirm e-scooters are easy to handle.
B. To describe tourists’ experiences in Townsville.
C. To show e-scooters help promote local economy.
D. To compare spending ways between active and light users.
31. Which can be a suitable title for the text
A. Tourism Booms in Townsville Thanks to E-scooters
B. Townsville Encourages Its People to Use E-scooters
C. Tourists Benefit from Local Traditional Transportation
D. E-scooters Are Becoming the Main Means of Transportation

In its response to reports that its Kindle business is exiting the Chinese mainland market, Amazon said consumers can still buy Kindle devices through third-party online and offline retailers (零售), while some of its devices have been sold out in the mainland. No one knows whether consumers bought all its products or the company produced too few, but it’s obvious that Kindle has shut down several online sales channels, forcing many in China to put their Kindles up for sale.
The domestic (国内的) digital reading market is growing rapidly. The reason for the industry’s growth even as Kindle declines is the ubiquitous smartphone. Nearly every adult has one smartphone in China. In fact, all electronic devices that specialize in single functions are fading out. Even tablets account for only one-tenth of mobile devices sales because one cannot use one to make a phone call. Besides, Kindle itself has problems. The electronic books that are available are expensive, while Kindle Unlimited, a program that allows customers to read any number of e-books for a monthly subscription fee, seldom includes new titles.
In a word, while electronic reading is a booming market, the market for electronic reading devices is shrinking. That’s why many joke that the only function left for a Kindle device is to act as a cover for a steaming cup of instant noodles.
Many users are saddened and hope Kindle doesn’t disappear for good. Maybe Kindle can find a way to reinvent itself and continue serving its customers.
32. What conclusion can we draw from the first paragraph
A. Digital reading at home isn’t as popular as before.
B. Some Kindle sales routes online have been closed.
C. All Kindle devices are sold out in the Chinese market.
D. Consumers are able to buy Kindle products on the Internet directly at present.
33. What does the underlined word “ubiquitous” in Paragraph 2 probably mean
A. High-end. B. Expensive. C. Good-looking. D. Common.
34. What’s the author’s attitude towards Kindle’s disappearance from the Chinese market
A. Objective. B. Pitiful. C. Sad. D. Worried.
35. What’s the text mainly about
A. The history of Kindle business. B. Electronic reading is booming.
C. The applications of smartphones. D. Kindle must reinvent itself to bounce back.

Brutus had everything in the world: good food, good toys, and good clothes. But the problem was that he had to share them all with his three other brothers, Mack, Jack and Robert.
Brutus had to share his favorite cookie box with Mack, who always finished the whole box before Brutus could take a bite. He also had to share his toys with his youngest brother Jack, who always ended up breaking them. Brutus also had the unfortunate privilege of being given his older brother Robert’s hand-me-downs of old clothes.
Brutus hated sharing and wished he had nobody to share his belongings with. “Why can’t I be the only child “Brutus sighed as he stared at the stars. “I wish I had no stupid brothers, “Brutus demanded at one sparkling star.
To his surprise, the star suddenly twinkled and fell towards his direction. The star inched closer and closer to his bedroom window. He screamed and tried to wake his brothers up but it was too late. The star crashed inside their room, followed by an ear-splitting explosion.
The next day, Brutus woke up with a bad headache. He rushed to his brothers’ beds to ask them if they were okay but was quickly shocked to see that their beds had been empty. They were nowhere to be found.
Brutus had the fortune of spending the whole morning playing with his toys. He put on his brother’s brand new clothes and sneakers which fit him perfectly. As he was checking himself in the mirror, he suddenly realized that his wish had come true. His brothers were gone and he had the whole world to himself.
“I can get used to this, “he said to himself happily

Will On-line Teaching Replace Traditional Classrooms
On-line teaching is becoming more and more popular nowadays, providing a very convenient means of education. However, from my point of view, on-line teaching will not replace physical classrooms in the future.
On the one hand, on-line teaching is obviously not a way to give the students chances to learn by doing. On the other hand, a traditional classroom in regular schools is a place not only for kids to learn, but also to make friends and cooperate with their fellow students, which is an advantage over on-line teaching, where kids learn mainly through6watching and listening.
第二节(满分25分)
When he felt hungry, his mother came back with a full box of cookies. “They’re all for you, my dear son,” said Mom with a caring smile. Mom told him that his brothers had gone to visit his grandparents with his dad. Thinking that he could enjoy all the cookies alone, Brutus was wild with joy. With mouth watering, Brutus wolfed down four cookies before he felt too full to have more. Every day、Brutus enjoyed playing toys, having delicious food and wearing new clothes without his brothers bothering.
In this way, he spent five days as an only child before he felt the empty house was too quiet. He needed someone to play with. Although he was well dressed, food didn’t taste good with nobody to share with. He began to miss his brothers. He realized their company was what he needed most. “I wish I wouldn’t be the only child any longer, “he thought, falling asleep. The next morning, a pillow hit Brutus on the head, waking him up. To his great delight, Brutus saw his brothers back! He sat up immediately to hug them and would never wish to separate from them!
