Teaching Procedures
Step1. Lead-in
Have a free talk: What do you often do on weekends
Where do you watch them
Step2. Presentation
Learn the new phrases in 1a.
1. Show the pictures of the movie theater on the screen. Let students list the good qualities of a good theater according to the pictures. Teach the new phrases: big screen, comfortable seats, best sound, new movies , popular, buy tickets quickly, close to home , cheap tickets.
2. Read the phrases after the teacher.
3. Read the phrases together.
4. Work on 1a.
First ask students to translate the phrases, then let them discuss what is important or not important for you to choose a movie theater.
Step3. Listening (1b)
Ask students to compare by using comparisons and superlatives according to the pictures.
Work on 1b.
First tell students the listening tips, then ask them to listen and match the statements with the theaters, at last check the answers together.
Step4. Practice (1c)
Ask students to make up dialogues in pairs by using the information in 1b.
Choose some pairs to act out their conversations.
Step5. Listening (2a, 2b, and 2c)
Pre-listening
Show 3 pictures and ask students to predict the listening material according to the pictures.
While-listening
(1)Listen and circle the best clothes store.
(2)Listen again and write the correct store.
(3)Listen and circle the best radio station.
(4)Listen again and write the correct radio station.
(5)Check the answers.
3. Post-listening
(1)Ask students to role play the conversation in 2c in pairs.
(2)Choose some pairs to act out.
Step6. Summary
Ask the students to summarize what they have learnt.

Step8. Homework
Make conversations with your partner about your favorite cinema and why you like it best.
