①What’s the main idea of this passage
②What is the passage mainly about
③What does the passage mainly discuss
④The writer means to tell us that .
⑤The main idea of the passage is that .
⑥The passage is mainly about .
⑦From the passage we can learn/conclude that .
⑧What’s the best title for the passage
⑨What would be the best title for the passage
⑩The best title for the passage is .
有些段落,有明显的引出细节的信息词,常见的信息词有:for example,an example of,the most important example,first,second,next,then,last,finally,to begin with,also,besides that等。
①It can be inferred/concluded/seen from the passage that...
②Which of the following conclusions can be drawn according to the passage
③The writer suggests that...
④The writer uses the example of...to show that...
⑤What’s the writer’s attitude toward...
⑥What’s the writer’s purpose of writing the passage
⑦From the passage,we know...
⑧The writer probably agrees that...

Hundreds of years ago, no dandelions(蒲公英)grew in North America. Then people came from Europe. They had dandelion seeds on their clothes. The seeds fell from their clothes onto the ground. Since then, dandelions have spread all over.
Most people believe that dandelions are weeds. They do not want them in their gardens. But some people think that dandelion flowers are pretty. And others think that dandelions taste good. They cook dandelion leaves or put them into a fresh salad. The leaves must be picked before the flowers come out or they will not taste good. Some people make dandelion flowers into wine.
Dandelions do not die easily. If the winter is not very cold, their leaves may stay green. When the spring arrives, their flowers come out. Each night their bright yellow flowers close up. When the sun shines the next day, they open up again. Dandelion flowers are very unusual. They do not have to get pollen(花粉)from another dandelion flower in order to form seeds. So after several days, the yellow flower turns white and soft. A tiny brown seed forms at the bottom of each white petal(花瓣). When the wind blows, the petals float away. Each white petal carries a seed away. This lets the dandelions spread their seeds all over. New dandelions grow where the seeds land.

Do you know what you’d like to be when you grow up It takes most people many years to find this out. For the young artist Alexandra Nechita, it never really seemed to be a question. From the day she began drawing at the age of two, she was an artist.
Alexandra Nechita was born in Romania in 1985 and moved to California when she was still a baby. As a little child, she loved colouring in her colouring books. Her parents hoped she could spend more time playing with other children, so they took away her colouring books. Alexandra began drawing her own pictures and colouring them in.

The Silk Road is the name of different roads that long ago connected Europe, Africa and Asia. People reached these different places along these roads. Scientists believe people began to travel the Silk Road about 3000 years ago. By the time the Chinese silk trade became important in the world, the Silk Road covered almost 6500 kilometers. It went from Rome to China, which is from the West to the Far East.
Merchants travelled along the Silk Road to carry silk, of course. They also carried and traded other things like spices (香料), cloth, jewels and gold.
Along and around these ancient paths(小路), have come many fascinating and mysterious stories.
It is said that Roman soldiers who lost a war travelled through central Asia. They decided to live somewhere near the ancient Chinese villages. Some of these Romans married local Chinese women and the legend of the blond-haired, blue-eyed tribes of China was started.
Some historians believe that the people of Kashmir were taken away from their country Israel. They were prisoners (俘虏) of war almost 2800 years ago. People say that these people travelled along the Silk Road. They kept their Jewish way of life for a long time.
During its busiest period, the Silk Road allowed people from many different cultures and countries to meet each other and mix. The Silk Road allowed the sharing of valuable things and new ideas. It included people and trading goods from different areas. All these peoples travelled the Silk Road, and they shared goods, stories, languages, and cultures.
In modern times, the old Silk Road routes (路线) are still used, but now they are crossed by trains instead of camels and horses. There is even a Silk Route Museum in Jiuquan in China. What is the difference between a fear(害怕)and a phobia You might have a fear of dogs if you have ever been bitten by one. However, if you avoid walking down streets where you think there might be a dog, you may have a phobia, which is a strong unnatural fear. If the fear has started to change a person’s life, he or she probably has a phobia. Different surveys say that between 10 and 80 percent of us have at least one phobia.
You can probably guess what some of the most“popular”phobias are. Flying may be the safest way to travel, but many people are scared of doing it. Fear of heights is also very common. For example, Spider-Man actor Tobey Maquire can’t stand high places. However, Tobey is not afraid of spiders that most people are afraid of. Rupert Grint, who plays in the Harry Potter movies, is in fear of spiders.“In one scene of the movie, we come into the large spider’s hole, and there we meet a spider that is the size of an elephant and really scary because he has these hairs. I’m really scared of spiders,”he said.
.For example, cats are very cute for most of us, but not for such powerful people in history as Alexander the Great and Napolean Bonaparte. Actor Nicole Kidman says,“I’m not scared of snakes or spiders, but I’m scared of butterflies. Sometimes when I came home from school, the biggest butterfly you had ever seen would be just sitting on our front gate. I would climb over the fence, move slowly to the side of the house, or do anything to avoid having to go through the front gate.”Clowns(小丑)are not so funny for actor Johnny Depp, whose childhood memory of the“painted faces and fake smiles”still makes him scared. Some other weird(怪诞的)phobias, including chewing gum, old doors or windows and footsteps, also fear some famous persons, such as Orah Winfred, Billy Bob and Sigmund Fred.

A 12-year-old girl from Virginia, US, never thought that a simple message she put online could bring her big problems. She posted the words,“Killing. Meet me in the library Tuesday”, with three emojis(表情符号)of a gun, a knife and a bomb(炸弹)on Instagram, a social media(社交媒体). She was told that she broke the law because of threatening(威胁)her school.
This problem is not far away from us. Not long ago, Ni Hanxiang, a Chinese student at a university in the US, was sent back to China after expressing on social media that he would kill his teachers if he failed to pass his exams.
In China, posting threatening words online is also against the law. In 2013, Wu Hongfei, a singer, got into trouble for saying on weibo that she wanted to blow up a building.
“Threatening happens not only face to face but also through the Internet, social media and the telephone,”said Mr.Cao, a lawyer from Chongqing.“Although the law of China protects people’s right of free speech, it doesn’t include words that threaten others’ lives and national safety.”
“Some people may not mean to threaten. They may just be trying to say‘I’m strong’,”said Fred Pratt, a lawyer from the US.
The girl’s mother said her daughter was a good kid who had never been in trouble before. Ni Hanxiang also said he didn’t realize that what he put online was so serious.
“But not knowing the law doesn’t mean the law will treat you any differently if you break it,”says David Allen Green, a lawyer from the UK. So, do you think we’d better spend a minute or two thinking about the words or emojis we use on social media before we press“send”

If you’re a kid who likes to have fun and chat with friends online, here’s advice on how you can stay safe and avoid problems.
★Visit safer websites. Your parents and teachers can guide you to the best websites. Some websites have age restrictions, so you might be tempted to lie about your age. It’s safer to tell the truth and avoid those websites until you’re older.
★Guard your passwords. You can set your own passwords. Passwords are your secret. It’s dangerous to tell your passwords to others. So, don’t share your passwords with anyone except your parents.
★Limit what you share. Never tell a stranger where you live or your phone number. If you’re not sure whether you should share something, ask a parent. Remember that anything you put online is there forever, even if you try to delete it. If you don’t want your class to know or see something, you shouldn’t share it with anyone online, not even your best friends.
★Be choosy about your online friends. Some websites let kids make lots of friends with people they don’t know. But online friends are not the same as real in-person friends. Never agree to meet an online friend in person or give out personal information. It’s dangerous because some people pretend to be kids online but actually are bad adults.
1.Which suggestion is about passwords

By the time Alexandra was seven years old, she had begun painting with oil paints. When Alexandra took a local art class, her teacher was amazed at the young artist’s unusual style of painting. Alexandra’s work was similar in some ways to the paintings by famous artists like Picasso. These artists did not use a realistic style of painting. It did not take long for Alexandra and her work to become famous. She appeared on television programs and in newspapers and magazines all over the world. The sale of a single piece can earn the young artist thousands of dollars. But that is not why Alexandra creates artwork. She just cannot imagine doing anything else that would bring her such joy and satisfaction.
