Point 1 强调句型的基本结构
(1)强调句的连接词只能是that和who，强调人时可用who/that来连接，强调事物时,包括地点、时间等都只能用that。
(2)所强调的可以是单词、短语，也可以是从句，但结构必须完整。被强调的成分可以是主语、宾语和状语，但不能是谓语。
强调句型的基本结构：It is/was＋被强调的部分＋that/who＋句子其他部分。
It was Monday morning that I got this news.(强调时间状语)
是星期一早上我得到的这个消息。
It was after he completed his homework that we came home.
(强调时间状语从句)
在他完成他的家庭作业之后我们才回家。
Examples
It was Marie Curie and her husband who discovered radium.
是居里夫人和她的丈夫发现了镭。(强调主语)

判断一个句子是否为强调句型还是其他句型，最简单的方法就是“还原法”，即将It is/was和that/who去掉，如果剩余部分的结构依然完整，则该句为强调句型，否则则不是。
(1)It is in this bend that accidents often happen. →Accidents often happen in this bend.
这个拐弯处事故频发。(是强调句型)
(2)It was he who did all the cleaning.
可以看出，去掉画线部分的词，句子仍然成立，故该句为强调句型。
(3)It is a pity that he has failed again.
此句中的画线部分若去掉，句子就不成立了，故该句不是强调句型。而是it作形式主语，that引导真正主语的句型。

在强调时间状语时，不能用when替换that；同样在强调地点状语时，也不能用where替换that。

Point 2 强调句型的一般疑问句结构
强调句的一般疑问句结构：Is/Was it＋被强调的部分＋that/who＋句子其他部分。
It was in 1939 that the Second World War broke out.
→Was it in 1939 that the Second World War broke out
第二次世界大战是在1939年爆发的吗？
It is Professor Wang who teaches you English
→Is it Professor Wang who teaches you English
教你们英语的是王教授吗？

强调句型的特殊疑问句结构：特殊疑问词＋is/was＋it＋that＋句子其他部分？
强调句的特殊疑问句只需在一般疑问句前加上特殊疑问词。
Who was it that broke the window
打破窗户的是谁？
When was it that you called me yesterday
你昨天给我打电话是什么时候？
When was it that he made up his mind to take this course
他是什么时候决定选修这一门课程的？
我真的不知道到底为什么他拒绝接受这个职位。
Why it was that he refused to accept the position.

Point 4 not...until句型的强调句型结构
not...until句型的强调句型结构：It is/was not until...＋that＋句子其他部分。
I didn’t realize this place was famous for not only its beauty but also its weather until I came here that.
→It was not until I came here that I realized this place was famous for not only its beauty but also its weather.
直到我来到这里我才意识到这个地方出名不仅仅是因为它的美丽还因为它的气候。
He didn't go to bed until 11 o'clock last night.
他昨晚直到十一点才睡觉。
直到他摘下墨镜时，我才认出他是一位著名的影星。
→It was not until he took off his dark glasses that I realized he was a famous film star.

用助动词do，does或did来强调谓语动词，用于一般现在时和一般过去时的肯定的陈述句中，do还可以用于强调祈使句。
Do be careful next time when you're driving a car.
当你下次开车的时候务必小心。
She did tell me about her address，but I forgot all about it.
她确实告诉过我她的地址，但我全忘了。
He did come to see you last Sunday，but you were out.
他上周日的确来看过你，但是你出去了。
Point 5 强调谓语动词
昨天我在图书馆遇见了汤姆。
I came across Tom in the library yesterday.
→It was Tom who/that I came across in the library yesterday.
→It was in the library that I met Tom yesterday.
→Where was it that you met Tom yesterday
→It was not until yesterday that I was kept the fact that he was ill in hospital.
直到昨天我才知道这个事实他生病住院了。
I was not kept informed of the fact that he was ill in hospital until yesterday
