第一、二条件句
Read the following sentences. Which situations are the sentences used to talk about:
Unlikely situations in the future
Possible situations in the future
If I don’t finish my project on the history of the Internet for next Monday’s lesson, the science teacher will be angry.

The 6 sentences are all talking about:
Possible situations in the future
(将来可能发生的情形）
Let’s read the sentences again and summarize the sentence pattern:
If clause:
If + Present Simple（一般现在时）
main clause:
will / won’t + do (infinitive without to)（不带to的不定式）
Here we introduce a new term:
First Conditional（第一条件句）
We use the above mentioned sentence pattern to express First Conditional.（我们用上面提到的句型来表达第一条件句）
We use First Conditional to talk about possible situations in the future.（我们用第一条件句来表达将来的可能发生的情形）
Part1
First Conditional（第一条件句）
We use First Conditional :
1.To talk about possible future events which depend on other future events;
（根据其他将来事件，将来有可能发生的事件）
To be brief, possible situations in the future.
The pattern is
If clause:
If + Present Simple（一般现在时）
main clause:
will / won’t +do infinitive without to（不带to的不定式
Let’s practise
1.If it rains,
2.If I pass the examination,
3.If I don’t finish my homework,
4.If the weather is good,
You are asked to complete the conditional sentences by talking about yourselves.
Let’s do more exercises on p13 E6.
Write these sentences as First Conditionals. Put the verbs in brackets in the correct form.（写出括号中单词的正确形式）
1. What (do) if your computer (not work)
What will you do if your computer doesn’t work
2. (You go) out with me on Saturday night if you (finish) the project
Will you go out with me on Saturday night if you finish he project
3. If you (go) to that website, you (find) some interesting imformation.
If you go to that website, you’ll find some interesting information.
4. (You go) to that concert if it (rain)
Will you go to that concert if it rains
5. She (buy) a computer if she (get) that job.
She’ll buy a computer if she gets that job.
6. I (give) you the information if you (telephone) me tomorrow.
I’ll give you the information if you telephone me tomorrow.
7. What (you do) if theweather (not be ) good tomorrow
What will you do if the weather isn’t good tomorrow
8. My sister (not go) to London if she (not pass) her exam.
My sister won’t go to London if she doesn’t pass her exams.
Other patterns are possible, especially using modal verbs（情态动词）besides the above pattern:（除了上面的句型外，也可用其他句型特别是使用情态动词）
eg. If you have time, we can go for a walk this evening.
注：
We also use First Conditional:
2. to give someone advice or an order, and to make a suggestion or a request
（建议或命令某人做某事，提出建议或请求）:
Examples:
1.If you feel sleepy, go to bed.
2.If she comes, phone me.
3.If you want an interesting day out, visit the Science Museum.
The pattern is:

If+Prensent Simple
main clause
Imperative(祈使句）
Part 2
Here is a situation:
Dan: Would you like to have dinner with me at McDonald’
Julia: If I had time, I would go with you.
Julia
Dan
To answer the question correctly, we need to learn the Second Conditional.
Will Julia go with Dan for dinner at McDonald’
We use the Second Conditional:
1.to talk about imagined, impossible or unlikely events in the future:
(想象的、将来不可能发生的事）

Examples:
1)If the sun stopped shining, plants would disappear.
the event is unlikely, and the sentence is about the future
此事不可能发生，句子是关于将来的
2)If I became a MP（国会议员）, I would fight for animal rights.
We also use the Second Conditional:
2. to talk about impossible present situations:
（现在不可能存在的状态）
Examples:
1)If I lived closer to school, I wouldn’t have to get up so early.
the situation is impossible to fulfill 实现now, and the sentence refers to the present.
此状态现在不可能实现，句子指的是现在
2)If I had more time, I wouldn’t eat fast food.
The pattern of the Second Conditional is:
If clause
If+Past Simple
main clause
would/could/might+infinitive without to（不带to的不定式)
Besides ‘would’, we can also use ‘could’ and ‘might’ in main clause.
Attention:
1)If I were you, I would not do it.
2)If it were fine tomorrow, I would go shopping.
1)Unreal Conditional(真实条件句）
2) In the Second Conditional, “be” should be written as “ were” regardless of the subject .（be 动词通常在第二条件句中用were的形式）
