The author has worked on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. Once believed”impossible”, the highest railway in the world is a record of the most difficult engineering challenges.Theses efforts and their end results mean that the railway is special to the author.

The author uses his personal experience to describe the challenges of building the railway and the solutions to these problems to tell us that we should protect nature while constructing and developing human society.
