I grew up in a house where the TV was seldom turned on and with one wall in my bedroom entirely lined with bookshelves,most of my childhood was spent on books I could get hold of.In fact,I grew up thinking of reading as natural as breathing and books unbelievably powerful in shaping perspectives（观点）by creating worlds we could step into，take part in and live in.

If you think that running marathons will help you live a long and healthy life,new research may come as a shock. According to a recent scientific study,people who do a very strenuous workout are as likely to die as people who do no exercise at all.
Scientists in Denmark have been studying over 1,000 joggersand non joggers for 12 years.The death rates from the sample group indicate that people who jog at a proper pace two or three times a week for less than two and a half hours in total are least likely to die.The best speed to jog at was found to be about 5 miles per hour.The research suggests that people who jog more than three times a week or at higher speeds of over 7 mph die at the same rate as non joggers. But the widespread use of plastics is causing major problems for the environment.Plastic materials are causing serious damage to the world's oceans.

But a team of researchers working at the U.S. Department of Energy say they have created a kind of plastic that could lead to products that are 100 percent recyclable.

Then I am going to Sydney for a few days. I have tickets to see the famous Australian singer Adam Rickett's performance at Sydney Opera House.I am really looking forward to it. After that,I am going to travel to the north coast and do some scuba-diving in the Great Barrier Reef. I hear the fish that you can see while scuba-diving are truly beautiful. After that,I am going to go to the desert for a day or two.In Australia they call the desert the outback.I hope to see some real kangaroos! Finally,I will return to Melbourne on the 10 th,to my sister's house.My flight from Sydney leaves on the 11th at 10:00pm.I expect to be back in London on the 12th at around noon.
