A few years ago, on a cold winter evening, I was having dinner with some good friends. One of them told us a sad story about something that had happened the day before. Her son's friend was in his mid-twenties and self-employed. He lived on the second floor of a house nearby. Someone who lived on the first floor had been smoking and fell asleep. The house burned down. Although everyone was safe, the house was completely destroyed with everything in it.
All this young man had were the clothes on his back and his pickup truck. He had no family in the area and nowhere to go. My friend was putting him up for a few days until he could decide what to do next.
Those of us sitting at the dinner table felt sympathetic for the young man. Everyone started opening their wallets to contribute money. My friend stopped us and told us he would not accept money. All he wanted was a warm coat and some other used clothing. We were all more than happy to fulfill his request and were told that he wore a size 3XL. None of us knew men who wore such an unusual size, so it was going to be a challenge to take care of this quickly.
But it was a typically cold New York winter, and I couldn't imagine him without a coat. So even though I had fifteen people coming to dinner on the coming weekend, and I had many things to do for the big party, I decided to look for a coat in a size that was difficult to find.
I got dressed and went to the thrift shop（旧货店）the next morning. I was there when it opened at nine. I went through every coat and jacket but found nothing even close to what I needed. As I headed toward the exit, I considered trying to find something in a department store, but it would be expensive, and I had no time to shop.

She held it tightly in her fingers, and said to the river, "Oh, dear river, if I could skip this stone all the way across, I would wish for a dear friend just like you. "Saying this, Walk waved her arm back just like her dad had taught her and threw the stone with full strength.
She watched the stone skip once, twice. . . and to her amazement, the stone went on skipping and eventually, on the seventh skip, made it across the river onto the shore of the opposite side. Walk was totally amazed. She could not just believe her eyes.
Her deep thoughts and happiness were disturbed when she heard footsteps coming towards her. Walk looked around and found a little girl was rolling down towards her. Walk panicked and hurried to get up to help. However, she lost her balance and fell off too.
The little girl was crying and holding her knee. Walk pulled herself and went close to the girl, whose knee was bleeding. She said gently to the little girl, "It will be alright. My house is nearby, let me help you. My mother will take care of the wound. "

And when Tara touched the rabbit, the spell of thewicked witch was broken and the fairy was able to return to her original form. The fairy saidto the little girl, "Ask for a wish, I will grant you the same.”
Tara could not say a single word as she could still not believe what she saw and heardjust now. Understanding Tara's condition, the fairy gave her a magic stick and told Tarathat whenever she wants her wish to be fulfilled, just wave the magic stick in the air and askfor the wish. Her wish would be granted at once. The fairy told Tara that only one wish willbe fulfilled and disappeared.

I took a trip to visit New York with my dad after graduating from high school. The receptionist gave him a strange look but took it in stride（泰然处之）and excused herself to talk to someone behind a door. She came back with the owner, a well-dressed man, who told us that since he had no other appointments right now, he would love to give us a tour!
The starting price for a violin here, we found out, was 10k.
