What is a fact
A fact is something that exists or has happened, for example, an object, event or experience. Facts are statements that can be proved by evidence.
What is an opinion
An opinion can be a general or individual view, belief or impression. Opinions can sometimes be identified by the presence of words such as “feel”, “believe” and “think”.

admit是动词。
作“承认”讲时,常用于以下结构:admit
(to) sth.; admit (to) doing sth.; admit (to sb.)
+ that从句。
eg Don’t be afraid to admit (to) your
mistakes.
George would never admit (to) being
wrong.
She admitted (to her teacher) that she had
made a mistake.
作“允许(进入),接纳”讲时,常用于以下结构:admit sb. / sth. to / into sth.。
eg Spain was admitted to / into the European
Community in 1986.

作“(某一范围内)可容纳”讲时,常用于以下结构:admit sb. / sth.。

mess既可作名词也可作动词。
mess作名词时,意为:①肮脏,杂乱,不整洁(常用搭配:in a mess);②(组织欠佳等导致的)麻烦,困境,混乱(常用搭配:make a mess of);③不整洁(或邋遢、不修边幅)的人。
eg Sam’s house is always in a mess.
I feel I’ve made a mess of things.
I got myself into a mess by telling a lie.
He was a real mess and drinking too much.
mess作动词时,意为“使不整洁,弄脏,弄乱”。
eg Careful — you’re messing my hair.

messy adj. 意为:①肮脏的,凌乱的,不整洁的;②使脏乱的,使不整洁的;③混乱的,难以处理的,令人厌烦的。
eg The children got really messy playing in the
woods.
Vicky cooks really well but she’s rather

6. The occasion is more enjoyable without all
that tiring cooking, and the dishes taste better!

occasion名词,意为“……的时候,场合,机
会”,常与介词on连用。
eg It’s polite to wear suits on a formal
occasion.
注意:当occasion后跟定语从句,且从句完整,需要关系副词时,如果意思为“时机” 则用when,如果意思为 “场合”则用where。
eg There are occasions when we don’t talk but
we understand each other.

remain可以作不及物动词,意为:逗留,留下,遗留,剩下。
eg Most guests left, but Mary and Susan
remained to help do the dishes.
Only the walls of the building remained
after the fire.
remain to be done意为:留待以后去做 / 看
eg A number of problems remain to be solved.
remain可以作名词,意为:残余,遗迹,常用复数形式。
eg They have found some remains of Tang
Dynasty in that city.

remain没有被动语态。
remain常用it作形式主语,而把真正主语 放在其后。
eg It remains true that sport is about
competing well, not winning.
remain也可以和there连用构成There remains ...。
eg There remained one significant problem.
