九年级英语Unit 13 Section B-Reading
Rethink , Reuse , Recycle !教学设计
一、教材分析：
本课是该单元的第四课时，主要内容是2a的阅读的学习，这一部分图文并茂，用了三个有同样前缀的词语Rethink , Reuse , Recycle !来作为文章的题目介绍了三个在环保再利用方面有突出贡献的人物及他们的做法。2a-2b主要关注课文的内容信息，2c-2d关注文中的语言信息。
二、学情分析：
对于变废为宝的DIY,学生基本上都做过。他们感兴趣，并且很有创新精神。所以本节课的文章，学生理解起来并不难。只是文章较长，在教学过程中，可以利用思维导图来帮助学生梳理和获取文本信息。此外，九年级学生对衍生词已经非常熟悉，本节课中出现了很多带词缀的单词，教师应结合以前学过的类似词汇帮助学生归纳和总结。在归纳和系统学习中，学生的自主学习能力将会有很大的提升。
三、Teaching Aims：
1.Knowledge Objects:
(1)To learn the new words:
gate , bottle , president , work , metal, upside , inspiration, iron, creativity .
(2) To learn some phrases:
throw away, put sth to good use, pull down , bring back.
(3)Target language:
①Nothing is a waste if you have a creative mind.
②Not only can the art bring happiness to others , but it also shows that even cold, hard iron can be brought back to life with a little creativity.
(4)Structure:prefixes and suffixes.
2.Ability Objects:
To understand this passage and train students’ reading ability.
3.Moral Objects:
(1)Improve the cooperative spirit through group work.
(2)Let the students learn to recycle somethings that we don’t use any more and protect the environment.
四、Teaching Key points:
1. To learn the new words and phrases:
gate , bottle , president , work , metal, upside , inspiration, iron, creativity ,throw away, put sth to good use, pull down , bring back.
2.To understand the passage.

Recognize how prefixes and suffixes may change the meanings of words and how they are used.

八、Teaching Procedures:
Step 1:Lead-in
The teacher can have a free talk with students by asking the following question:
Do you likes
How do you deal with the bottles and cans
Step 2 :Presentation:
Ask students whether they have seen pieces of art that are made of bottles and cans and ask them some questions:
Do you like these pieces of art
Do you think bottles and cans should be throw away ？
How should we deal with recyclable garbage
(设计意图：对易拉罐和饮料的处理是学生非常熟悉的生活经历，以此为切入点，导入回收利用的话题，能引起学生的兴趣和共鸣。)
Step 3: Reading:
1、Pre-reading:
（1） Show the three pictures on the book and the title of this passage to students , let them guess the main idea.
(设计意图：读前预测，为学生在接下来的阅读中获取文章大意作准备。思维导图可以帮学生理清文章脉络。
（2）Read and match the main idea with each paragraph.
Para 2 A. Bags made of old clothes
Para 3 B. Art pieces made of iron and
other materials from old cars
Para 4 C. House built of rubbish
（设计意图：通过看图片配对的方式，让学生掌握每一段的段落大意。）
2.Fast reading:
Read the passage and complete the chart.

(设计意图：通过填表格的方式，让学生了解这篇文章所谈论到的三个人物，他们分别的作品以及作品的材料。)
2、While-reading:
（1）Read paragraph 2 and answer the questions：
① Who built the house
②What did she use to build the house ③Where do the windows and doors come from
④What is the top of the house （设计意图：通过让学生阅读第一段回答问题，让学生掌握第一段中的关键信息，同时训练学生的阅读能力。）
（2）Show the main map p to students ,let them retell the paragraph one.
(设计意图：让学生通过思维导图来复习文章的第一段，有力于学生理清文章的脉络。)
（2）Read paragraph 3 and answer the questions：
①How are her bags
②Where can we buy her bags
③What's her plan Why
Then show some pictures to students to review paragraph 3
(设计意图：通过回答问题以及根据图片来回顾第三段的内容，有助于加深学生的记忆。）
（3）Read paragraph 4 and complete the chart.
(设计意图：通过填表格的方式，让学生掌握文章第四段的关键信息。）
(4)Read paragraph 1and underline the topic sentence.
Topic sentence: Nothing is a waste if you have a creative mind.
(设计意图：让学生阅读第一段找出主题句，从而掌握整篇文章的中心思想。)
Step 4:Do some exercises(2c):
Let students fill in the blanks ,then check the answers.
(设计意图：通过做练习，让学生巩固新知识，进一步掌握重点短语的用法。）
Step 5:Summary:
Let students sum up what we have learned.
Step 6:Play a video.
Let students enjoy a video,let them understand protect the environment is protect ourselves,save the earth is save ourselves!
(设计意图：播放节约资源的视频，让学生明白保护环境就是保护我们自己，拯救地球就是拯救我们自己，从而达到对学生的情感教育。）
