Every day people throw away a lot of rubbish. Have you thought about where it all goes and what happens to it
Most of it goes into “landfills”. We do not know exactly where all these landfills are. And in fact, they are in our suburbs(郊区), close to where we live.
It may be hard to believe, but most of the cities in China are surrounded(包围) by rubbish. But putting this rubbish in landfills takes up too much space.
Another way to get rid of rubbish is to burn it. But this pollutes the air around us. The third way is recycling. This is becoming more popular. Besides, it is much better for our environment.
