单元名称 Unit 1. what’s the matter
单元教学设计说明(依据课程标准的要求,简述本单元学习对学生核心素养发展的价值;简要说明教学设计与实践的理论基础) 本单元以“健康与急救(Health and first aid)"为话题,属于新课标中“人与自我"范畴内"生活与学习”主题群中的子主题3“身心健康,抗挫能力,珍爱生命的意识. 在日常生活中注重自身和他人身体健康,了解珍爱生命、健康生活的重要性,具备一定的互助精神,热心待人,树立顽强的意志品质和果敢独立的精神,热爱生活、珍惜生命、永不放弃。 根据新课标三级要求:本单元的话题是健康与急救,要求学生能在所设日常交际情境中听懂有关健康问题的对话,能简单就健康问题提出建议,能读懂有关公交司机乐于助人的英文报刊文章,能读懂有关登山者的经历的记叙文。语言上,能进一步巩固和综合训练重点语言,词汇及表述更加丰富,有意突出对步骤顺序的表达:技能上,侧重综合性的听、读、写的训练,尤其突出阅读:情感上,教育学生树立顽强的意志品质和果敢独立的精神,学习课文中主人翁热爱生活、珍惜生命,只要有一线希望就不会放弃的优良品质。能用简单的语言给他人提供建议。在学习中相互帮助,克服困难,合理计划,积极探索适合自己的学习方法。
单元目标与重点难点(根据课程标准和学生实际,指向学科核心内容、学科思想方法、核心素养的落实,设计单元学习目标,明确重点和难点) 能够在医院、校医室等真实情境中正确使用“have+(a)+病症”结构谈论疾病和情态动词should提出建议,通过听、说、读、看、写等方式谈论自身和他人的健康问题并恰当表达自己的建议; 通过听说读写的训练,能够获取有关健康与安全的信息,联系实际,有逻辑,辩证地,创新地表达个人看法,并能提出简单,恰当合理的建议。 能够学会关心自身和他人身体健康,提出一些建议,了解珍爱生命、健康生活的重要性;能够具备一定的互助精神,热心待人,必要时施以援手;树立顽强的意志品质和果敢独立的精神,热爱生活、珍惜生命、永不放弃; 重点:1.谈论身体健康状态及意外和急救。 2.能够用情态动词should 对健康和意外事情给出建议。 难点:1.谈论意外伤害及处理建议。 2.就他人健康问题写作有关建议类的文章。
单元整体教学思路(介绍单元整体教学实施的思路,包括课时安排、教与学活动规划,以结构图等形式整体呈现单元内的课时安排及课时之间的关联等)
依据新课程标准和课标分析,教材和学情分析,我把本单元的主题定为“Keep healthy,live happily.保持健康,快乐生活”。五个子主题分别对应本单元的五个课时。第一课时为Section A (1a-2d)课型为听说课。学会谈论健康和给他人的健康问题提出建议。第二课时为Section A (3a-4c)课型为语法课。通过阅读新闻稿件,学会乐于助人,观察句子总结语法。第三课时为Section B(1a-1d)课型为听说课。谈论生活中的意外事故,学会急救知识。第四课时为Section B(2a-2e)课型为阅读课。阅读登山者Aron的故事,获得主旨大意,总结记叙文的写作特点。学习主人公永不放弃的精神品质。第五课时为Section B(3a-selfcheck)课型为写作课。运用本单元所学的目标语言,给他人提出合理的有关健康方面的建议。

课标 分析 课标摘录:新课程标准三级关于听说的要求是:能听懂相关主题的语篇,并能借助关键词句,图片等复述语篇内容。 本课主要学习有关伤病及处理建议的表达方式,话题对接中国学生发展核心素养中的发展能够具有安 学生懂得健康生活常识。 新课标要求八年级学生能听懂发音清晰、语速较慢的简短口头表达,获取关键信息;能围绕相关主题,运用所学语言,与他人进行日常交流,语音、语调,用词基本正确,表达比较连贯;能自尊自爱,正确认识自我,关爱他人,尊重他人,有社会责任感;能多角度、辩证地看待事物和分析问题;能主动参与课内外各种英语实践活动,注意倾听,积极使用英语进行交流;能在学习过程中积极与他人合作,共同完成学习任务。

教材 分析 Section A侧重健康问题及提出相关建议,活动1a旨在介绍身体各部位的词汇,1b和1c通过简单的听说活动向学生输入并操练有关询问和表述疾病或不适的基本词汇和表达方式;2a-2d侧重听说技能训练,并加入了医治及处理建议,综合性地训练学生在该话题下的语言输入及输出水平。 重点:1.有关身体部位名称、伤病名称及与动词搭配后形成的词汇表达; 2.关于就医或救治建议的表达;用于表述身体不适的句型结构; 3.情态动词should 表达建议的用法等。 难点:1.清楚区分不同伤病的动词、形容词搭配; 2.准确表达不同伤病及其形成原因; 3.针对不同伤病提出合理建议
学情 分析 八年级学生80%已经掌握了一定的有关身体部位的词汇和提建议句型,具备了初步的听说技能,对语言学习的热情也逐步增加,他们对如何用英语来表述与现实生活息息相关的话题并寻求合理的解决办法是很感兴趣的。本课有关疾病不适与相应建议的话题与学生息息相关,且他们具备一定的生活经验和常识,应创设情境,鼓励学生多发言多交流,在”学中用、用中学”。
学习 目标 By the end of the class,students will be able to: 1.talk about the parts of the body by watching video. 2.get specific information by listening and talk about some health problems by working in pairs. 3.give advice to others about their health problems by role-play.
评价 任务 Talk about the parts of body and finish exercises and 1a by watching video, playing games and looking at the picture of Messi.(对应目标1) Talk about health problem by listening and working in pairs. (对应目标2) Talk about health problems and give advice by listening, reading ,answering questions and role-play.(对应目标3)

Step 2. Before- listening. T: Let's watch a video to know more about our bodies. Let Ss know the names about body parts. Provide a game and some exercises. Exerxises:1. We look with our______ 2.We listen with our____ 3.We smell with our_____ 4.We walk with our_____ T:There was something wrong with Peter What's the matter Present some pictures and elicit Ss to give more different problems in English Watch another video about our bodies. Learn the names of the parts of the bodies based on the picture of Messi. Play a game and say out the parts of the body. Finis the exercises. Finish 1a. Say out Peter's health problems. Next,follow the “doctor" to learn different health problems with"have a/an ...” structures
Step3. Listening1b T:plays the recording for the first time and let Ss number the names. T: plays the recording for the second time and let Ss match the reasons and the pictures. Look at 1b and the picture on Page 1 and guess the illness before listening. Guess the reason,listen again and match the reasons and the pictures. Read the conversations after the teacher.
Step 4. listening2a,2b. Provide some listening strategies. T:As a doctor.I need to give some advice to patients. Let Ss to look at 2a and the picture on Write some phrases about the body problem under each picture. Listen for the first time number the pictures. Listen for the second time ,some Ss show their
Page 2 and ask some questions to help them make a prediction before listening. T: In Picture 1, she has a cough and sore throat,what should she do Show the 5 pictures on PPT, and give the phrases of treatment on the right. encourage Ss to give some other reasonable treatments. answers with a whole sentence. Make conversations with their partners.
Step5. Role-play.(2d) Play the recording for Ss to listen and repeat. Encourage Ss to repeat the conversation and find out the answers to the following questions. Q1: What's the matter with Lisa Q2:What did Lisa do on the weekend Q3:What's Mandy's advice /What should Lisa do Read the conversation in roles between Mandy and Lisa. Some pairs to come to the front and act out their own conversations or role-play the conversation only. Practice several times. Divide the Ss into 3 groups, recite the conversation in 1 minute.
Step 6. summary and conclusion. Guide Ss to summarize some key points in this class. Parts of the body: Ask about problems: Are you OK What’s the matter Ask for advice :What should I do Give advice: You should/can/could... Step 7 home work Design homework according to different levels of students. Level A:make a survey about your friend about how many hours they spend on phone and their eyesight after class.draw some charts about your survey results.show them next class and give them some advice about how to use phones and protect eyes. Level B:design a chart to sum up the health problems,reasons and advice you have learnt.
