单元总备
一、教材分析:
本单元的主题是“逆境与勇气”,主要围绕英国探险家沙克尔顿及其“坚忍号”船员的南极内容分析探险展开。其经历大致如下:沙克尔顿带领的“坚忍号”探险队于1914年8月从伦敦出发,探限目标是横穿南极大陆。然而,由于被浮冰围困,他们不得不弃船居住在浮冰之上。随着浮冰不断碎裂变小,船员们又被迫流落到无人的象岛。为了挽救被围困的船员,沙克尔顿带领救援小队乘救生艇赴南乔治亚岛捕鲸站求助。最终,在他们的不懈努力下,所有人获救,于1917年春天返回伦敦。由于沙克尔顿与“坚忍号”船员的南极探险过程复杂、情节曲折,编者将故事连贯地铺陈在本单元的各个板块,使板块之间环环相扣,内容细节前后呼应。本单元的引言来自英国著名作家塞缪尔·约翰逊,句子的意思是:伟大的作品不是靠力量,而是靠坚持来完成的。perseverance一词在此句中被翻译成“坚持”;此外,它还常被翻译为“毅力”“韧性”“不屈不挠”等含义。
二、文本分析:
活动主题:该板块的主题是“探讨冒险精神”( Explore the spirit of adventure)。这一板块展现了探险家沙克尔顿招募船员、少年珀西登上“坚忍号”、“坚忍号”被困并沉没、船员登陆象岛、沙克尔顿组队求援的大致过程,其中每一个事件都伴随着对相关人物的考验,展现了探险家和船员们不畏艰险、不惧困难的精神。在学习这一板反块时,学生一方面要结合历史背景理解探险家和船员们所面临的极端困境,另一方面要结合故事细节对人物的性格和品质进行分析,从而发现“成功的失败”背隐藏的相:领导者危不乱、敢于担当船员乐观积极、团结奋进,领导者与船员之间互相尊重、彼此信任。文本分析:阅读文本分为两个部分,一部分是背景知识介绍,另一部分是以“坚忍号”服务员珀西·布莱克博罗的口吻写下的三篇日记。从沙克尔顿带领“坚忍号”船员于伦敦启航,直到他们全部回到英国,这一历程长达两年多。
语法结构: 语法结构:本单元的核心语法结构是现在完成进行时,这一时态的谓语结构为“have/has been doing”,学习和掌握这一语法结构的难点在于理解和区分现在完成进行时和现在完成时。
