① famous /'fe m s/ adj. 著名的；出名的
在句中用作定语或表语，同义词为well-known。
e.g. Beijing University is very famous in the world.

He is a famous man in our town.
他在我们城镇里是一位名人。
② culture /'k lt (r)/ n. 文化；文明
e.g. We are living in a consumer culture.
我们生活在一种消费文化之中。
Over 80 years ago, he first appeared in the cartoon Steamboat Willie.
appear / 'p /, / 'p r/ v. 出现
appear是不及物动词，一般指具体有形的事物
突然或逐渐地出现，强调“显现”或“存在”。
come out 出版；发行
e.g. The book came out last month. 这本书上个月出版了。拓展：come out 的其他常见含义：出现；露出
e.g. When the sun goes down, the stars come out.
当太阳落山的时候，星星出现了。
become /b 'k m/ v. 开始变得；变成
become 在句中作连系动词，后接名词、形容词作表语，表示一种变化，其过去式是 became。
rich /r t / adj. 富有的
e.g. People in the small village have a happy and rich life.
这个小山村的人们过着快乐富足的生活。
successful /s k'sesfl/ adj. 获得成功的；有成就的
e.g. His father is a successful businessman.
他的父亲是一个成功的商人。
main /me n/ adj. 主要的；最重要的
e.g. The Monkey King is the main character in the famous Chinese story Journey to the West.
猴王是中国著名故事《西游记》的主角。
