The Internet lets us talk to interesting people. But remember some of them have bad plans. Here are some ways to keep yourself safe.
Keep personal information to yourself. Don’t give personal information to strangers(陌生人). They can use your ID card number or school name for bad purposes. Also, don’t send your photos to anyone. Bad people might find them. They might share the photos or ask money.
Be safe when you meet people. You might talk with online friends for a long time. They might look friendly and honest(诚实的). However, think carefully before you meet them. Meeting online friends in person can be dangerous.
Know your Internet tools. People sometimes act badly online. When this happens, you can stop them from talking to you. You can also save messages(信息) to show your parents. You can even report the person to the website for bad actions(行为).
Be careful with money. Bad people often trick others to get money. They tell sad stories to make you feel sorry for them. They may say,“Only you can help me.” Don’t believe them! Also, be careful of lies(谎言) about money when you sell things. Real buyers don’t offer(提供) more money when you ask for less.
