3. After they left, I got into my Jeep and opened the paper bag. To my amazement, a luring red apple, on which capital letters "LOVE" were carved, came into sight. Beside it was a heart-shaped note saying “Thank you for your kindness. Best wishes!"

Later, as we stood by the burning tent to keep warm, we considered our difficult situation. The snow on the trees was gradually melting, making a sound on the ground. Only large and endless forests came into our view. We had no idea about which direction to go. As our campsite and supplies burnt into ashes, we were so hungry that we were trembling in the cold and quiet surroundings. Steve searched for nothing and felt at a loss for what to do next. Only then did my emotions start pouring out, and a sense of fear enveloped me.
The exhilarating (令人兴奋的) Alaskan jungle air feels so good. Then I saw that hanging from the red cedar (雪松) I had placed it four years before was the rusty iron trap that had once ensnared (诱捕)the wolf. At the sight of it, I had a strange feeling that something had led me up the hill of Kuprana to the grassy spot where I had last seen her. There, standing on a high windowsill, I let out a long, low Wolf cry, something I had done many times before. There was an echo in the distance.
Then, far away, I saw a dark figure moving slowly in my direction. When it went through the grass, I saw it was a big wolf. A chill ran through me. I knew the familiar shape right away, even four years later. "Hello, old girl," I whispered. The wolf leaned in, ears pricked up (竖起), body tense, and stopped a few yards away, his bushy tail wagging slightly. After a while, the wolf went away. I left Kuprana shortly after that and never saw the animal again. But the memory she left me is vivid, haunting(萦绕), a little weird, and it will always be there to remind me that there is something in nature that exists outside of human rules and understanding.
