Introduce the concepts of space and show them the eight planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus 3. Introduce the first astronaut landing on the Moon: Neil Alden Armstrong. Step 2: Pre-reading Look at the picture and write the correct words. Predicting: Look at the photos, the title and the first paragraph of the diary. Then circle the correct answers Step 3 While-reading Fast reading: read the passage quickly then match the main idea of each paragraph; 2. Detailed reading: read each paragraph of the passage carefully and then answer questions: Para 1: finish the mind map of para 1; Para 2: 1) How long will it take to get to the Moon 2) Why will they be able to float 3) What will they have to do so that they won’t float away in sleep Para 3: 1) What will they have to wear Why 2)What is Jerry going to do on the Moon 3. Read the diary again and find the information.
