Past tense is used to talk about things that have already happened.
一般过去时的结构
(一)观察文章中的句子,发现be动词的变化和行为动词过去式的规则变化。
1. I was very happy there.
2. There were lots of things to do in Quilin.
3. I often watched movies with my friends.
4. Sometimes we played basketball in the park.
5. And I often shopped for food and drinks with my mother.
6. We studied together in the living room.

末尾只有一个辅音字母的重读闭音节词,先双写这个辅音字母,再 加-ed stop-stopped

结尾是“辅音字母+y”的动词,先变“y”为“ i”再加-ed study-studied

(四)动词的过去式不规则变化规律:

与原形一样, 没有变化 cost-cost put-put

What do all these verbs have in common

All these verbs are regular verbs. That means that to make the past simple, we use an ‘ed’ ending.

‘Ed’ can make different sounds.
Sometimes it sounds like ‘id’
Sometimes it sounds like ‘d’
Sometimes it sounds like ‘t’
So how do we know when to use these different sounds
Listen and practise
All these ‘ed’ endings make the ‘id’ sound. Can you guess the rule
Look at the last letter of each verb.

If the verb ends in a ‘t’ or a ‘d’, the ‘ed’ ending makes a ‘id’ sound. This adds one extra syllable. Now practice the words!

Practice these sounds as if you were paying imaginary drums.
‘K’
