Review Review comparative and superlative degree by comparing provinces of China. The teacher shows three pictures of provinces to present big-bigger-the biggest. Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is a big province. It's 1183000 square kilometers in size. Tibet Autonomous Region is bigger. It's 1228400 square kilometers in size. T: What is the biggest province in China S: It's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. T: How big is it S: It's 1664900 square kilometers in size. T: Yes, and we can also say: It's 1664900 square kilometers big. Review description words and nouns about geography facts: size, big-bigger-biggest height, high-higher-highest length, long-longer-longest depth, deep-deeper-deepest 2. Pre-listening T: Just now we have learned how to talk about the size, and we've learned about the biggest provinces in China. Now, let's go further to see the most amazing things in the world. (1) Watch a video about world's most. Ask students to answer the questions about the world's most. Then finish 1a. The highest mountain in the world is Qomolangma. The biggest hot dessert in the world is the Sahara. In the world, the deepest salt lake is the Caspian Sea. In the world, the longest river is the Nile. (2) Look and say, to introduce each place and review big numbers. How big is the Sahara It's about 9,600,00 square kilometers big/in size. How deep is the Caspian Sea It's 1,025 meters deep/in depth. How long is the Nile It's 6,671 kilometers long/in length. How high is Qomolangma It's 8,843.43 meters high. (3) Review and practice the comparative degree and the superlative degree. T: Qomolangma is the highest mountain of all the moutains in the world. That means it is higher than the other mountains in the world. 其他所有的: the other+ n.pl/ the rest of + n.pl/uncountable nouns any other +n. sin so we can also say Qomolangma is higher than the rest of the mountains/ any other mountain in the world. 3. While-listening Listen and finish 1b. After finishing it, ask students to transfer the comparatives and the superlatives on the book, then check it in class. 4. After listening Ask ss to work in pairs, ask and answer about the geography facts they just learned with the questions starting with "how". How high/deep/big/long is... It's ... high/deep/big/long. It's ... in height/depth/size/length. After 3 pairs of presentation, tell students how to transfer the "how" questions into "what" questions. What's the heigh/depth/size/length of ... The teacher lead the students to talk about different aspects about China. 2. While-listening Before listening, ask students to make predictions with the knowledge they already have. Listen and check the answers. 3. After listening Ask students to pay attention to the comparative degree in 2a&2b. much longer as big as the second longest Summarize the comparative and superlative degrees: 原级比较 as ... as, not as/so ... as 比较级 -er/ more ... than (专门修饰比较级的程度副词much等) 最高级 -est/the most of/among+同类/ in+范围 比较级和原级比较、最高级的转换 4. Role-play the conversation in 2d. (1) Lead-in T: With geography, we can travel more interestingly, we can be little guides for our families. But, can you be a guide in Beijing Do you know much about it S1: It's our capital. T: Yes, and there're some mosts in Beijing, do you know any S2: The Great Wall is the eighth wonder in the world. T: Yes, and it's the longest man-made object in the world. Let's find more about it. (2) Read 2d and answer questions. How long is the Ming Great Wall Which is the most famous part of the Ming Great Wall Why did the ancient emperors build the wall (3) Role-play the conversation Students work in groups, one act as the guide, the others act as the tourists. 【设计意图】通过练习听力、学习对话并展示对话,学生可以进一步操练目标句型,并且因为对话描述的是大部分中国学生都很熟悉的长城,部分学生也去过长城,或者有参加过旅行团的经验,在模仿旅行团对话的时候会非常自然有趣。 Step 4 Extension. Watch a video and make an introduction to a "most" in Changsha. 【设计意图】模仿视频进行长沙之最的介绍。既为本单元的作文进行了口头铺垫,也通过小组活动打开学生的思路。在小组展示的时候,老师可以引导学生注意介绍的逻辑顺序。 Step 5 Summary 1.Summarize what we have learned : words of geography facts and big numbers, questions and answers of asking about geography facts, comparative degree and superlative degree, and listening skills. 2. Moral education: The world is a book, traveling is a good way to learn more about it. 【设计意图】帮助学生梳理本节课的思路和所学内容。鼓励孩子去旅行,去了解世界。 Step 6 Homework 1. Option 1: Find out more facts about the world's mosts and write at least three facts. Option 2: Write 3 mosts in the class. 2. Make a conversation like 2d to introduce places of interest in Changsha. 【设计意图】针对基础不同的学生布置分层作业,基础较差的同学只需要描述班级之最,基础较好的同学描述世界之最,课上引导最好不和课上的重复。第二项作业既可巩固课堂所学的对话,又可引导学生生成更多的关于家乡的描述,贴近生活。 教学反思 1. 跨学科导入,调动兴趣 因八年级学生在学习本单元的时候正好在地理的会考复习阶段,而且是复习后期,对于地理的知识都非常熟悉,所以课前布置了阅读地理课本后附录里的英文地名的任务,帮助学生扫清词汇障碍的同时也能鼓励学生多关注教材。导入时结合地理知识进行测试,极大调动了学生的兴趣,并自然地复习了形容词的最高级。 2. 情境教学,走出去走回来 本节课使用了希沃地图,希沃内置的地球可以滑动并放大某个地方,学生非常感兴趣。除了自然地理的知识,课文也涉及到了国家、名胜古迹等行政、人文地理的知识,自然地结合了旅行的主题,因此教师布置学生模仿对话进行旅游团的情境表演。在最后的小组活动,又回到家乡,进行对长沙之最的介绍,鼓励学生了解家乡、热爱家乡。 但本堂课也因为课文涉及的语法知识比较多,地名单词和大数字的读比较难,基础较弱的学生在课前如果布置导学案会更好。课后教师可以布置相应的习题进行巩固。 极简教育技术(希沃等)与学科融合设计理念 本堂课全程通过希沃教学。 导入环节,教师利用视频素材帮助学生从视觉听觉的角度认识地名词汇。因为本课的地名比较多且都是长词,仅看视频是不够的,所以后续通过动画的切换帮助学生不断地操练地名和本科的重点——最高级,在听前环节就进行了几个世界之最的分别操练和对比操练。 听力环节,利用希沃的听力播放功能进行回放,帮助学生练习听懂地名、大数字、吞音等听力中的难点。 听后,在重点句型的转换上使用动画切换,帮助学生及时接受并操练。并在口语练习的环节结合了希沃自带的地球仪,让学生放大相应的地点进行对话,调动了绝大部分学生尤其是喜欢地理学科的学生的兴趣。 在2d的对话教授中,用到了从趣配音上下载的课文视频,生动地呈现了导游带游客观光并对话的场景,为学生的模仿搭建了台阶。阅读对话时的练习使用的是希沃的思维导图,帮助学生快速地梳理了对话的逻辑,也为学生小组活动和家庭作业做了铺垫。 总的来说,本堂课的信息技术使用得当,且因为本课主题和地理学科联系紧密,很好地体现了跨学科融合理念。不仅体现了人与自然的主题,也融合了人与社会的主题,是一堂学生会收获比较大的课。 极简教育技术助力初中英语教学提质增效 英语学科教学对于信息技术的使用是比较多的,从以前的PPT到现在绝大部分老师会选择的希沃,信息技术对于英语学科内容的展示很方便,能更好地呈现情境,但优点不仅于此。 首先,听力的播放一直都是英语听说课的必备项目。从最开始的英语老师拎着大大的收音机到后来的PPT播放,都有各自的小缺陷,比如收音机会存在可能放错的问题,而PPT播放常常出现音频如果没有跟着PPT一起复制的话就播不出来的问题。希沃的听力就很棒了,内置在网络上,而且可以随时停止,回放、音量调大调小都很方便。其次,希沃的蒙层功能比PPT的动画功能更灵活,学生也有抽奖的惊喜感,更节约时间且更容易调动气氛。最后,对于像我一样上课喜欢拓展,有时候为了准时下课不得不上课做些删减,希沃不用退出,可以直接选取页码进行上课,并且每一页有缩略图,所以可以完美避开选错的可能性,非常方便,避免了课堂重复,提高了效率。 以上几个功能都是我在教学时常用且非常喜欢希沃的地方。除了教学,在教研方面,希沃也能帮老师们提质增效。首先,它可以让老师们集体备课,不用一个课件传来传去。再者,希沃本身就有非常多精选的课件,而且评分和下载量都很真实,我有时候会关注一些课件做得很好的老师,这是非常好的教研的平台,并且可以直接拿来修改并在课堂上实践,效率很高。 其实,除了希沃以外,现在有很多软件也关注到了教育教学这个领域,给老师们提供了很多方便。作为信息时代的老师,教育即生活,生活中很多的信息技术也和教育教学可以相互成就。比如微信传文件、公众号的资源、各类视频软件上的资源、包括老师们可以通过P图软件和视频软件自己编辑和剪辑照片和视频,将自己和孩子们的生活和课堂结合,给孩子们的英语学习创造更自然的情境。课后,我们可以布置孩子们用趣配音练习课内课外的视频、用一起中学练习听力口语、用班级小管家打卡作文等等。这些都是用起来非常简单的,家长一学就会,老师批改统计起来也很简单。 总之,只要我们用心,可以帮助孩子们learn English anywhere, anytime!课后点评 1. 教学设计紧扣八年级学生认知,辅以极简技术激发学生浓厚的兴趣的同时,课堂效率得到提高,环节运营流畅。多模态教学增加了视觉刺激,增加学生的专注度,打造了“趣听、妙想、悦说”的英语听说课。 2. 学科融合的视角使学生在多元融合的语言学习环境中愉悦听说,在提高语言能力的同时,巩固和刷新已有认知,引导学生在有效发展了核心素养和关键能力。教师通过用心用情的教学设计,润物细无声地引导学生“热爱自然、敬畏自然、保护自然”的积极情感,在整个教学过程中渗透了德育目标。 展开更多...... 收起↑ 资源预览
