教材分析 The theme of this unit is Music, while the theme of the reading text is Learn about experiencing music online. The text introduces a new music style----virtual choir. It mainly talks about the four factors of virtual choir and the story of Eric Whitacre, who started the virtual choir and the meaning and function of the virtual choir.
学情分析 Students in Grade One has learned English for years, and they have mastered some basic language points and language skills, and they can get some detailed information in the text. But most of them lack reading strategies like skimming, scanning and prediction. This text is related to music, which almost all the students are interested in, but as to the virtual choir, most of them are not familiar with. After reading the text, students can learn about the virtual choir and cultivate their critical thinking and creative thinking to judge the advantages and disadvantages of this new music style.
教 学 目 标 与核心素养 Knowledge objectives: To learn about the features and the linguistic characteristics of explanatory text. Skill objectives: To cultivate students ability to scan the text to get some important date, figures, names.
