Teaching objectives:
Students can obtain cultural information about Western Australia from the text through skimming,and master the language knowledge related to the topic.
Students can carry out independent learning and cooperative learning,reflect on the learning effect,and optimize learning strategies and methods accordingly,so as to better communicate and express in English.
Students can think about some questions and finish the travel quiz,activate the existing language and background knowledge,and stimulate their interest in the topic.
Students can talk about the influence of travel on Lauren based on the content of the article and the reality of life,and express their own views on tourism-related work.
Evaluation objectives:
Ask students to talk about their favourite tourist destination among the top five tourist destinations to find out if they can use some relevant expressions correctly.
Ask students to find out their own travel quiz results to find out if they can form initial thinking about the tourist destination.
Teaching key and difficult points:
Enable students to watch the video and answer two questions, and initially introduce the theme.
Lead students to describe and share their thoughts about their next tourist destination to stimulate the students’ further feelings.
Guide students to learn the ability to quickly record key information in the video.
Lead students to talk about the places where they like to travel next time and illustrate their reasons.

Lead-in Look at the pictures and guess what they are doing. What’s your feelings about travelling Show the pictures to the students and then present some questions. Ask some pairs to show their answers. Students work in pairs and find out the answers. Guide students to be familiar with the topic of travelling and improve students’ reading interest.
Summary:Most of the students prefer to travel and think travelling is very important in their lives.
While viewing Watch the video and answer the questions. What are the top five tourist destinations Which country do you want to visit most Why Ask students to watch the video attentively and find out the correct answer. Suggested answers:Italy, Spain, America, France and China. Ask students to talk about their answers in their groups and ask some groups to show their answers. Present the correct answers to the questions and summarize them. Students finish the activity by themselves. Develop students’ listening ability, and obtain information fast to grasp the main idea of the video; Apply and practise words and phrases in this unit to express their opinions about travelling so as to activate the existing language and background knowledge.
Students’ performance:Some groups have different answers. The answers of some groups are not complete.
Travel Quiz Do the quiz and answer the questions. What is your next destination Are you pleased with your result What do you know about your next destination Where else would you like to travel Why Instruct students to finish the Travel Quiz and then ask the students to turn to Page87 to find out their results. After finishing the quiz, the students take the group as a unit, share their own quiz results and discuss their next destinations. Students do the Travel Quiz and then find out their results. Students work in groups to share their quiz results and then discuss the three questions. Finally several groups show their bine the text with students’ real lives to arouse students’ interest in this topic. Students think about and supplement the factors when they choose the tourist destinations, further expand their thinking and activate topics.
Evaluation Work in groups. Talk about the jobs involving working with the next destination. Instruct students to form into groups of four or six.Direct them to talk effectively. Students work together, each one giving his/her view. Students learn how to give their opinions on the jobs involving working with the next destination; Arouse the students’ initial thinking about the factors when they choose the destination to travel.
Students’ performance: Students can involve themselves in the group work and are able to perform in front of the class. Some groups perform well and receive warm applause.
