Alex, 31, who runs his own IT firm, recently moved to New York with his family. For nearly three weeks, Alex and his wife, Kelly, were busy cleaning and decorating the new house to make it comfortable for the kids. They have three cute children: two-year-old Anne, six-year-old Vicky, and Isabelle, 11. Anne often sits on the windowsill (窗户) of her sixth-floor bedroom, where she likes to play with her toys. There are a variety of toys and dolls for the little girl. The window overlooking(俯视，眺望) the street was never opened and her mother Kelly thought Anne was too young to open the latch(插销). However, Alex insisted that they should inform the homeowner(房主) that they needed window guards(防护装置) and safety bars(栏杆) to protect Anne and Vicky. One rainy evening, Anne accompanied by Isabelle was playing with her toys in her bedroom as
usual, while their mother busied herself with doing the housework. Anne and Isabelle shared the small bedroom, where Anne’s name was painted in rainbow colors on the wall. After a while Isabelle wanted to listen to the rain and opened the window. Minutes later, Isabelle felt a bit hungry and left the room for a moment to get a slice of pizza from the dining table, leaving Anne alone. Instantly, she heard a thundering sound and the cries of her younger sister coming from five floors below. Isabelle turned pale and realized something went wrong. She rushed into the bedroom, looked out of at the window and saw Anne was on the awning(雨棚)over the entrance to the building. Her heart sank and she felt so scared that she screamed. Hearing her daughter scream from a room away, Kelly ran into Anne's room and was too shocked to speak.
“It's all my fault, Mom. I shouldn't have opened the window”, Isabelle cried hard.
It felt like a nightmare(噩梦) but Kelly managed to keep calm and said, “We need to go downstairs to get Anne down from the awning. The sooner the better.”

李师傅说：“还好阳台雨棚刚换过，中间有厚四厘米左右的泡沫板。”
　 楼上掉下一个娃 落在新装的厚雨棚上
　　“囡囡别怕别怕啊，阿公来救你啊！”发现男娃娃掉下来那一刻，李师傅根本不敢动，伸出双手站在娃娃下面，随时准备接着。一旁帮忙装修的刘师傅赶紧拉过梯子爬上去，一把把伢儿抱了下来，交到李师傅手里。哇！男娃娃许是吓到了，一个劲直哭喊妈妈。李师傅小心抱着，赶紧检查了孩子的小脸蛋、手手脚脚，还好还好都还没事。
　　李师傅一直抱着哄着，还给孩子拿来了巧克力。邻居们七七八八都围了上来。哄了10来分钟，伢儿也哭了这么久，哇一下，吐了。旁边的邻居说，可能是轻微脑震荡了。李师傅把孩子擦干净，又放在地上让孩子走了几步，手脚灵活，“还好还好没事没事。”李师傅还问伢儿，“有没有哪里痛啊？”男娃娃戳了戳自己的脑袋瓜，头上

有个小小的红肿。
　　就在这会儿，孩子妈妈哭着跑回来了。邻居们一问才知道，伢儿4岁，已经上幼儿园小班了，因为感冒没去幼儿园。伢儿爸爸妈妈在小区附近开了一家小餐馆，本来奶奶在家照顾孩子的，因为临时要拿样东西，就出门了一会，没想到孩子就从阳台上爬出去了。伢儿妈妈抱着孩子就奔医院去了。
　　“这孩子真的是命大啊！”李师傅指了指阳台雨棚，“这雨棚我十多天前才刚刚装上的，上下两层彩钢瓦，中间是厚厚一层泡沫，起了缓冲作用，孩子幸好是掉在这上面。加上天气冷，孩子衣服也穿得厚。”记者看了一下，中间的泡沫板大概有三四厘米厚。

　　真是福大命大 经过医院检查孩子没事
　　昨天下午两点半的样子，李师傅心里还一直惦记着伢儿呢。这时候，一男一女两个年轻人拎着牛奶水果来找李师傅了，原来他们正是伢儿的爸爸妈妈。
　　夫妻俩拉着李师傅的手，一个劲说谢谢。伢儿妈妈还拿来了医院检查拍的片子给李师傅看，“医生说了，孩子没事、没事。”李师傅仔细看了检查报告，“没事就好啊，晚上再好好观察一下，以后真的要注意，不要让伢儿一个人在家。”
　　伢儿和爸爸妈妈奶奶住的是4楼的一居室，房子是租的，卧室的房里地上铺了榻榻米，放了不少玩具。小伢儿瞪着大眼睛，正在地上玩儿。卧室外头的阳台，栏杆有1米多高，并不矮。可是地上放了不少箱子等杂物。伢儿爸爸说，可能孩子就是踩着这些箱子翻出去的。

One possible version：
Kelly rushed down to the sidewalk but couldn’t reach her crying daughter. Then an idea struck her. She hurried upstairs and knocked on the door of the neighbor on the second floor, with Isabelle following closely behind. Hearing what had happened, the neighbor let them in and joined the rescue. From the window opened next to the awning, they were able to reach out and carefully pull the crying girl inside. To the mom’s relief, Anne only had a bruise on her right arm. She held Anne in her arms tightly and examined if she was hurt elsewhere.
“She is the luckiest kid in the world.” said the neighbor. “She had fortunately survived a five-storey fall. No broken bones or other serious injuries.” Kelly and Isabelle were both glad that the little girl was alive and all right. They expressed sincere thanks to the neighbor and hurriedly took Anne to hospital for a further examination. // After that, Kelly called the homeowner for safety bars to prevent accidents from happening again.
