This makes it the longest wall in the world. 第三步:拓展提高--环节2 教师点拨(用时5分钟) 知识点点播。 1、population的用法 ① 这个城市的人口是600万。 The population of this city is 6 million. ② 德国的人口是多少? What's the population of Germany ③ 中国的人口比美国的人口多得多。 The population of China is a lot bigger than that of the US. ① population直接作主语时意为“人口数”,这时谓语动词要用单数形式。但是如果部分人口(分数、百分数)作主语,谓语用复数。 ② 表示“某地有多少人口”有两种表达方式: a)The population of +某地+be+数词(该句型中population前用冠词the); b)某地+has a population of +数词+(people)(该句型中population前用冠词a)。 ③“某地有多少人口”要用“What is the population of ...?”或“How_large is the population of...?”提问. ④表示人口“多”要用huge或large修饰,表示人口“少”要用small修饰。 There are ________ students in the room,so it's very quiet. A.not B.not a C.no D.not some 答案选择 C,no 置于可数名词单数前面时,相当于 not a;放在可数名词复数前面或不可数名词前时,相当于 not any,意为“没有的,全无的”。因此答案选择C。 4、as far as的用法 ① 我们走得不如其他人远。 We didn't go as far as the others. ② 就我所知,他人不错。 As far as I know,he's_a good man. ① as far as本义,意为“与……一样远”,“一直到……” (在否定句中也可用 so far as)。 ② 用于引申义,意为“就……而言”,“从……来看”,“尽……所能”,“只要”(有时可用 so far as)。
